Wonderful weather made the holiday so much more enjoyable

My sister-in-law wanted a few days sun to celebrate her "significant" birthday. She chose Marseille via Eurostar as she has a fear of flying. I wasn't keen on the seemingly long train trip but really, it was a dream as no train change and we arrived all refreshed from the journey. The drive from the station to the hotel took around 20 minutes. The fare is €30 so definitely not the 15 - 20 in the guidelines. Would I book this hotel again? No, but then nor do I regret staying there as the neighbourhood was safe, it's literally 5 minutes walk from the beach (and lovely and clean it was too!) and there are a choice of little restaurants around the corner so set meals around €15 which are a bargain. Back to the hotel - clean, functional and friendly. Ideal for business trip stop-overs but we did find the clientele a real mixture of English, American, French and other. The pool is small and perfectly formed but there are no sun-loungers, just rigid chairs to sit on! We spent our afternoons on the beach which was a lot more comfortable. The room itself was clean, comfortable and had a decent terrace. The outside needs de-rusting and a lick of paint. The breakfast was fine and adequate. Recommended for business travellers or for a cheap 2 night break.

Wonderfully kind staff- and great aparthotel

We stayed 10 nights at the aparthotel while a family member was at the Institute Paol-Calmettes. The staff and our rooms at ApartHotel Adagio was one of the few bright spots during these weeks.

We had two very clean adjoining rooms on the fourth floor- one room had a sofa bed (weirdly comfortable to sleep on!) and the other had two beds. This worked out perfectly. Having the laundry facility downstairs and the two kitchens with a grocery store 5 minutes walk was also super convenient- as was the Pakistani restaurant on the beach front and the Paul bakery with great salads 15 minutes walk.

Other high points of the location were ample parking during non summer months and the the two rental bike stations within 5 minutes.

DO NOT STAY HERE

Horrific all round. Old building which doesn't appear to have been renovated or even painted since it was built. Walls are paper thin - the noise from neighbouring rooms, the cleaners yelling the the corridors and drilling close by kept us up at night and woke us up each morning, the two lifts worked intermittently, unfriendly staff and uncomfortable beds - definitely NOT worth the money. We left 3 nights into our 6 night stay (despite no refund being available) and checked into a similarly priced hotel further up the beach which was paradise in comparison. Please do not stay here - if you're on a budget a hostel would trump this place!

Staff are rude and not helpful.there is no air conditioning in most rooms. Very noisy party's in adjoining buildings and probably not located in a nice part of marseille. Rooms were of very average standard of cleaning

Horrible

You sleep on click-clack sofa in the kitchen.
Your head is nearby fridge and wash tank.
The matras is not existing, as you lie on hard sofa material with a thin linen over it.
Incredible that someone thinks it is nice to sleep like this..
Black hair in the bathroom.
It is not worth more than 35€. Like a highway hotel
Useless furniture and useless kitchen
But no good bed
