Great Value for money apartment

Stayed here recently and was very impressed with the apartment that we had,. Immaculately clean upon arrival and as it was serviced regularly it remained that way with fresh towels etc. It was very well kitted out for holiday living and as it is so well positioned within the old town, anything that you require is at hand. There are also plentiful good bars and restaurants on the doorstop along with a well stocked supermarket next door.

the beautiful beach is just a short stroll and we had gorgeous sea views from both of our balcony's. The owner could not do enough to make our stay a success and we would have no hesitation in making a return trip.

The air-conditioning was first rate and free wi-fi too

Location excellent.. bright spacious apartment.. very helpful reception, small Balcony but a very good view.. we travelled end October and most places were closing for the season, and saints days etc..on 31st October and 1st November. Internet worked on two of our devices but not on third..There is a lift. Easy train travel, station very close.

Excellent Acommodation,Price and Location.

We stayed at the Aparthotel Iris for 10 days.
This aparthotel is in the perfect location about 100 meters from a nice beach
yet right in town next to a grocery store and many little shops and retaurants.
The local train station is a short walk away and you can get to the many other
little towns and to Barcelona quite easily.Barcelona is about 1 hour by train.
The reception is not staffed 24 hours(We believe their regular hours are 9-12
and 4 to 6 and you receive a key to the front door) but even though we were
late we were greeted by the recptionist who was cheerfully waiting for our
arrival and showed us the facitilites.The receptionist was also very helpful
in answering any of our questions.
We had a spacious 1 bedroom apartment with complete kitchen facitilies large
table,nice bathroom with tub and shower,two balconies(one off the livingroom-kitchen
area and one off our bedroom).Our apartment also had pullout sofa in the livingroom
so it could probably accomodate up to 4 people.A safe in the apartment is also available
for rent. Being able to cook ourselves certainly cut down on food expenses.
Because of the location,the price (which was very reasonable) and the bright,clean
and spacious apartment we would no complaints and would gladly return to stay here.

Great little apartment

We stayed for just two nights . The staff is very helpful. The apartment is very close to a beautiful beach, less than two minutes walk at the end of the "strip" . It was very clean, had very comfortable beds, excellent air con and Wifi. We had a double room and my son slept on a double sofa bed in the living room/kitchen. Modern bathroom, very clean again. There is a lift. The kitchenette is small and I wouldn't plan to do much cooking. There is a little supermarket downstairs.Parking was a little difficult, there is a free council car park about 5 minutes away by the train station. It is difficult to get a space though particularly in the evening as most cars stay for a while. I would definitely recommend this apartment, very good for the price. Malgrat is okay, definitely not as pretty as Tossa, but great beaches.

9 of us in total stayed here, sharing 3 rooms over 3 nights. Guest details are taken from passports when you arrive as well as a 50 euro deposit, which is returned at the end of the holiday upon the rooms being inspected (we didn't have any problems getting this back at all - they seem to be very fair people).

The rooms are great - spotlessly clean and the self catering facilities were good. No kettle, but a huge fridge, pots and pans, a hob etc. The apartments vary in their layout but they are all nice and spacious. We also had the added benefit of seeing the beach from our balcony which was lovely, and there was also a maiden to help dry clothes which was very handy.

We did have a strong sewage smell in our apartment on the first night coming from the bathroom which I spoke to reception about and apparently it was a problem with the drains. They were very apologetic but could not offer an immediate solution. However, a cheap air freshener from the shop next door sorted that out and the two other rooms didn't have the same issue.

The people who run it are very friendly and even let us keep our luggage in one of the rooms until our transfers arrived, so that we could enjoy the beach before we had to leave. They will help you wherever possible - very nice people indeed.

The location is brilliant - it's situated on one of the main shopping streets with lots of restaurants, markets etc. and there is a supermarket right next door which is handy if you're keen on self catering. The beach is literally a two minute walk away and (what we think) is the main strip of bars, clubs, shops and restaurants is also a two minute walk away, if that! However, it is far away enough that it's quiet during the evenings.

We had a great holiday here and would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants basic, clean and very convenient accommodation in Malgrat de Mar. For the price, it's excellent. Possibly more geared towards single travellers, couples and friends as opposed to families.
