What People are saying

Don't stay here

Jostein Kon 20/07/2017 11:18

We stayed here foe three nights, and we were not satisfied at all.
The appartment was ok, but the location was horrible. The place looked abandoned and not very nice. Don't stay here unless you just need a bed for the night.

No no no, don´t even consider!

This place is a joke. In crazy busy Rûgen, this hotel always has rooms available. Why? Because people who stay here never ever wants to return. We booked 3 double rooms through booking.com, but due to a "mistake" the hotel staff had put us all six in 1 family room. Not that fun for a romantic couple´s weekend... The room was cheap motel-style and depressing, one bed broken, a dirty and under-maintained balcony, no decorations or ambitions what so ever to make the place cozy. To compensate for the "mistake" with our rooms we were offered a free dinner for all six people in the hotel´s restaurant, which was great. Unfortunately dinner was not. With two waitresses serving maybe 60-70 guests it was chaos. Having been waiting for ages for the food to arrive, people were so frustrated they just gave up and left. We were hungry as hell and fought on, and voilá: exactly 1 hour after we had been seated, the beers arrived. Waited another half hour before we got to order the food. Than another 1,5 hours to get the food brought out: a dish of pasta, sloppy put together with 2 cherry tomatoes and a faded basilicum leaf. In a very friendly tone (this was after my beer had arrived), I asked one of the two waitresses why things took so long. His explanation: "The kitchen is too small". Bet you never heard that one before :-) To sum it up: If you´re considering a weekend in Rûgen (and you should because it is quite nice), you´d be better off in a tent at a random parking lot than staying at this wore down and depressing place, situated steps from the busy main road and miles from anything worth seeing and doing.

Roof over your head

Needed a place to stay when I got off the ferry - Aparthotel Königslinie provided just that. Nice room, comfy bed and it was possible to arrive late. When I made the booking it was stated that the hotel was 500 m from ferry terminal, as a walk on passenger that was a bonus. This was not quite true, it might be 500 m from nearest fence but not from terminal. Preordered breakfast was supposed to be 10 EUR, in reality it was 20 which was rather steep for what was offered!! Nice room, clean and comfortable and very friendly staff, but with taxi from terminal and 10 EUR extra for breakfast it wasn't so cheap after all.

Excellent short Easter Weekend stay at Sassnitz

We chose a 3 room (2 bed room) duplex apartment facing the sea. The hotel is right opposite the beach with lovely views of Baltic Sea. On a sunny Spring Easter Eve, we enjoyed lunch at the balcony dining table.

The sound of the sea waves splashing the rocks near the beach was awesome. We could also see the moon light. Next morning views after the rains, a first rainbow reflecting on the sea was really fabolous.

But the best part of the hotel is the lady at reception. Although she does not speak lot of English, she was very very helpful at check-in, in guiding us to sightseeing and attractions, in guiding us on bus routes to Binz and Sassnitz. She was also very friendly and flexible in extending our check out hours with a broad smile. I dont know her name, but will definitely like to thank her for all her hospitality and help.

The hotel is just not opposite the sea, but on the Bus Route 20 which connects Binz and Sassnitz. Bus frequency on weekends is every 1 hour, but was enough for us as we planned the timings.

Bus 20 also goes to Sassnitz Bus Station, from where you take another bus to Jasmund National Park.

The room was very clean and neat, very good utensils - broad choice when you want to cook.

The balcony is great on sunny days, and time will just pass by.

Pretty average!

The only good thing about this hotel was that it was clean and allowed pets. Plus it is right next to the ferry terminal if you are travelling to Sweden. Other then that it was way overpriced, bathroom was weird (no shower) and smelt strange. Will not be staying here again.
