Berlin with kids
k_rosingaon 27/07/2017 19:27We had a very nice stay in the family apartment, the apartment and the location were as good as expected. The hotel is located in a central area and there are several ways to use the public transport within approx. 5 minutes. The rooms were complete and very clean. We stayed 4 nights and we've used the breakfast every day, breakfast is simple but has got a good quality.
Great experience in Berlin
abystr_165486on 21/07/2017 07:49Great experience in Berlin. Just 10 -15 min away from Brandenburg Gate. Easy to find and reach from Friedrichstrasse railway station (around 15 min by foot ). Very friendly staff. I will recommend those apartments to my friends.
Comfortable and clean!
Ginge57on 20/07/2017 14:03The room itself was great, the housekeeping very good with clean towels everyday and sheets changed frequently. Wifi was excellent and the hotel is close to the major sights but not at all noisy! The breakfast staff worked very hard and ensured baskets and plates were always replenished. Try to avoid coming to breakfast after 09:30 as it gets very busy but is great for people watching! The balcony was a great feature and we enjoyed sitting there every evening. A really enjoyable stay!
Nice spacious apartment in great location
SkiWhistler10on 13/07/2017 17:20Great spacious apartment in excellent location. S+U bahn is 10min walk, there's a bus stop across the street as well. Bus to TXL airport is 5min from the apartment.
We had a business apartment. It's very modern, spacious, and very clean. Beds are very comfortable. There's a kitchen with pots/pans, small fridge, dishwasher, microwave, etc.
Breakfast is basic but tasty. Reception sells Berlin Welcome card which is a good idea unless you want to bike the city.
On a negative side, we had a 3rd floor apartment with no elevator. Not a problem for us, but I can imagine some folks will have issues hauling their luggage up. If you park in the basement, then it's another flight of stairs.
No complimentary tea/coffee. A minor thing, but still.
A few other minor things, that can be improved. For example, there's a luggage scale at the reception, but they don't let you take it to your room, so I guess we are supposed to repack in the reception area if we find a luggage item to be overweight.
Warnings on breakfast room about automatic 10 euro charge if one takes food outside of the breakfast room. Other places have a more polite version.
Overall, despite these minor things, I would come back.
Highly recommended
bluenoser1954on 27/06/2017 19:09We had a wonderful, 9-day stay at this well-located, clean, well-set-up apartment hotel. Our Family Suite was located at the back of the building, overlooking a sort of courtyard shared by other apartments and equipped with a patio and a picnic table. The kitchen was well appointed and clean and modern, and included a dishwasher, a coffee maker, an electric kettle, and a table with seating for 4. The main bed is at one end of the living room, and the only other furniture to sit on in that room is two comfortable upholstered chairs with matching stools. We found this fine for the two of us, but it might be a bit sparse for a larger group. The bed was a dream: essentially a king, but consisting of two separate mattresses and separate duvets. As a result, one didn’t feel one’s partner turn over or pulling on the covers, and we slept wonderfully. The room was initially equipped with only one soft pillow per bed, but the hotel has a “pillow menu” and we were able to supplement ours with firmer ones. Note that there is no A/C, although the windows do open. The included breakfast is a delight – I don’t understand why some reviewers of this hotel said it was nothing special. This isn’t my first trip to Europe, so I know what the breakfasts can be, and the one at ApartHotel is terrific: a variety of fresh rolls, sliced bread for toasting, various jams, honey, Nutella or equivalent, butter, cheeses, cold cuts, hard-boiled eggs (nestled on a bed of sand in a warming pan), cereals, juices, coffee, teas, a changing array of dishes such as herring in cream sauce or beet salad in sour cream, and more. The ambience of the breakfast room is calm and restful, and in good weather one can eat outside. (Note that eating outside means you’re with the smokers though.) The front staff was not exceptionally warm but was friendly enough and was willing and usually able to answer our questions. One small point: They sell postage, which I purchased for my cards to home, and they had the amount required wrong – a fact I fortunately caught by looking up the rate before mailing the cards. The location of the hotel is very good, less than a 10-minute walk from the Friedrichstrasse U-Bahn stop, from which one can get all over town, and a 15-minute walk from the main train station. The Reichstag is perhaps a 10-minute walk away, and there are restaurants in the area, as well as a Lidl grocery store nearby. We would definitely stay here again.
