Fantastic place
basel fon 04/08/2017 15:01In general, we try to avoid staying in old towns. They are usually noisy, with tons of people walking up and down for hours. Rovinj is no exception. Villa Valdibora is.
What a wonderful place. Several old buildings joined in one fantastic hotel. Stone walls exposed from inside, old furniture, beds, chairs. Complementary bottle of wine. Completely isolated from outside noise. Cool enough that you don't have to turn on a/c during the night. Five minutes walk from any decent restaurant in Rovinj. Excellent staff. Highly recommended.
Old World Quaint
Tourtheworld32on 02/08/2017 18:39What a great place. So old world with modern facilities. Everyone was helpful and friendly. But if you can't walk up narrow stairs don't go. Then again, everywhere in Croatia is about stairs. The included breakfast was great - eggs made to order and plenty of options from yogurt and fruit to cheese, ham and bread. Sit outside their front door for a late afternoon coffee or a glass of wine and listen to the music at the end of the aisle. You have to park outside the walls of the old town but they will send a golf cart to pick you up and take you to the hotel. You can walk it but if you don't know where you're going you might get lost. My only suggestion is to invest in small bars of soap instead of the liquid soap. Definitely a place I would return to.
Old House with refurbish design room
uthinxon 03/07/2017 10:13Well its not easy to find this hotel, also this hotel cant be access by cars.. so you will have some problem with big luggage..
try to bring a light luggage if you want to have experience in this hotel
some of hotel room also cant be access by elevator, so I need to take stairs for 3 levels, its very tired..
The room itself is nice, combination with old and modern style..
Beautiful old hotel with operating problems
W Von 28/06/2017 18:14The hotel is in the old town of Rovinj in a very quaint corner on a narrow lane, which is inaccessible by cars. That is also the first Tting anyone should keep thinking about if planning to stay at this hotel. The way between the nearest parking lot and the hotel may be easily doable with a small handluggage, but dont do it if you have one or more big pieces to move. We had very good support to carry the luggage on arrival (after some waiting time), but on departure we waited too long for someone to carry the luggage back to the car, so I had to carry it myself.
We had a room on the 3rd floor, which was - despite the exhausting climb every time, as this room was not accessible by an Elevator - very beautiful and spacious. The layout and design of the room is very nice and matches the historic setting. TV-channels are very very limited - just in case your time is not fully occupied by sightseeing. The bathroom has two major issues: a hairdryer that I though would be extinct by now (the hose coming from the wall that does not dry anything - especially not longer hair) and serious black fungus in and around the shower.
The breakfast does not really deserve this name. You may get some eggs if you want, but the Quality of the eggs is questionable and the variety of the rest is simply inexistent. Probably the worst breakfast variety I had in many years.
The staff is in general very friendly, but if you need help with the luggage you might have to wait for quite a long time.
Summarizing it: a very nice place with some beautiful rooms in the heart of Rovinj, if you dont have a lot of luggage, dont mind walking and stairs and if you dont care about breakfast.
