Best Gyros in Orange County, CA
FlyingWitch13on 28/07/2016 04:38I have been going to the Mad Greek since I was in grade school. The owner is often there himself working and overseeing daily operation.
There is no better place to get a gyro in Orange County. Also try their deep fried zucchini with the traditional tzatziki cucumber yogurt dipping sauce.
They have American food as well as Greek. Something for everybody.
In the warmer months you can dine on their patio under a canopy of grape vines.
Peaceful dining atmosphere. Simplicity on all levels, good food made to order, and clean dining room and patio. There is only a 1 person bathroom.
If you're on the go, they have a drive thru window, which I've never used.
Give it a try.
Its been awhile since Ive been here..
1london2on 14/07/2016 03:52I used to take the bus to the beach to surf and on the way back stopped off at the Greek. Today we stopped in for a bite. This is a Greek place, with all the favorites. There is nothing on the Menu I don't like. I got to speak with Billy again today and he really is helpful if you have any questions about this cuisine.I get the Gyros but have tried just about everything. It looks as though he is in the middle of some upgrades .
Yummmmm!
cdenoion 02/09/2015 22:30We have eaten at the Baker Mad Greek many times but when we discovered the original Mad Greek we had to try it. All locations were sold off except this one & it's great Greek food. The Gyros & Souvlaki were very tasty & authentic. The sauces compliment the food nicely....zucchini was ok but everything else was fresh & yummy, enjoy!
Greek food but without all the financial intrugue.
LelandSiskon 15/06/2015 00:20This is another one of those restaurants that my wife and I visit from time-to-time when we want to pig out. We go here to pig out on gyros.
We've eaten at several establishments around SoCal that serve gyros, but this one seems to consistently be the best. Their bread is soft, warm and "good" chewy without being annoying, know what I mean? I have trying to eat bread and regardless of how long you chew it, it never seems to diminish in volume or allow itself to be swallowed. Their combination lamb and pork is always tasty and tender and plentiful. I do not know the name of the sauce that comes with it, but it is most excellent. If you buy the combination for about $9.00, you get a Greek salad with lots of tomato and cucumbers and a nice dressing, a gyros and a soft drink of your choice.
This is definitely a meal and makes a damned good lunch OR dinner. You can add fries to feed your inner child and turn this into a "more-than-you-need" meal.
You can sit indoors or you can sit outside on their patio; either is great. This restaurant is right on Beach Boulevard and is easy to find.
The staff always treats us right and are eager to help and serve.
Stop by sometime. It's waaaayyyy cheaper than flying to Athens, Greece (or Athens, Georgia for that matter).
