Clean, quiet, friendly
Jacqueline Ton 23/06/2017 15:44Our apartment with double bed and kitchenette had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Kitchen equipment worked well, and the fan was adequate for keeping the room cool at night. Very clean, and only a 10 minute walk from the train station. Parking was a bit confusing, as when we arrived, they told me there was none available, but when my husband asked an hour later, they had a parking place for three nights. In all, a pleasant stay in a great location.
Check your bed!
georggoetzelmannon 14/06/2017 14:48We were using the Odalys Bioparc hotel for the visit of an exhibition in the Eurexpo Center nearby. This is a officially 4 star rated hotel, only with breakfast, no restaurant.
The double room Appartement we were given, had a bed of only 140 cm width for 2 people, causing us a very unqiet and uncomfortable sleep. For such a room they want 151 € plus Breakfast of 12 € per person. This is robbery in my eyes. Located in the 8th district in the East of the city is is quite near the exhibition centre, but impossible for couples in such rooms. General hotel rating would be 3 stars, for the room only 2 stars. Defect shower in the bathroom also!
Quiet hotel - good location
yvon-montrealon 09/06/2017 17:58We used this hotel as our entry and exit point to/from Lyon. The rooms were ok and it was nice to have access to a drip coffee machine, fridge and some dishes. The mattress for the first room had a big dip in the middle. Complaints about the room would be a lack of a small night table on one side of the bed to put eyeglasses on. The bed is close to the wall - about a foot away. They do have parking available but it is limited and can only be reserved the day off your arrival. So this may be an issue.
In term of location, if was fairly quiet even though a tram basically run in the backyard of the hotel. No Air Conditioning but a fan is provided if you need it. From the hotel, we were able to walk to the older section of town
Excellent alternative to a hotel
Jens Lon 26/05/2017 08:41I have stayed in Odalys, Marseille before so had high expectations. I chose the larger one-bedroom apartment, which has a separate living and sleeping area plus a well-equipped kitchenette. As with preciously, the quality and range of equipment is excellent. It really makes it possible to treat it like a home away from home. The double bed is comfortable and wide, which gives you a good night's sleep.
The residence itself is around 10-minutes walk from the Train station, beyond which you have old city (Vieux Lyon) with a good selection of architecture, cafes and restaurants plus beautiful views over the Saone and Rhine rivers.
A swimmer’s delight
Paul Ton 20/05/2017 22:26This relatively-new hotel is a real find in Lyon’s trendy Confluence neighborhood, conveniently accessible to the best tourist sites, many of which are within a half-hour’s walk or a less-than-half-hour ride on any of Lyon’s excellent means of public transportation. In fact, the tram line to both train and metro stations is a short, two-block walk from this Odalys.
This hotel ended up being one of our favorites during our three week trip to Europe, even though we were worried about being so close to a rail line. Our concerns were for naught as the room was completely soundproof. Even the infrequent trains that passed by when we had the windows open were much quieter than trains we’ve heard in other places.
We were especially impressed with this Odalys’ attention to detail. For example, their studio kitchen supplies were the most practical and generous we encountered in the 8 studio-hotels we visited in three weeks; the pool’s security system was thoughtfully-planned and the electric roller blinds on the exterior of our terrace door and windows provided a complete room-darkening experience.
We thank Lynn for her kind welcoming and look forward to seeing her again during our next stay at this Odalys.
P. S. Among the ‘bouchon lyonnais’ restaurants we frequented during our five days in Lyon, the fix-priced lunches that amazed us were at ‘L’Atelier d’Yvonne,’ (6, rue des Marroniers) and at ‘Daniel and Denise,’ (8, rue de Cuire).
