Baffled by different names Liljana seems to be run by same landlord
sh1nesouton 27/04/2017 22:11This review is for the Liljana which from comments below is run by the same people Be warned 360 steps with suitcase to get to our room. Did not get the private bathroom we had paid for. Or twin bed so I lost the coin toss and got the bunk bed. A long way down and back if you realise they have forgot to leave you a key or bath towel. Very noisy as corridor acts like a chamber so every time someone opened there door to use the loo or shower it reverberated round the building. Awake most of the night by the wind blowing against a loose window partition.
Great apartment in a superb location with a fabulous view. A very authentic place which is spacious and comfortable.
LCH0926on 01/10/2016 19:10Loved it! At first I was thrown off by the number of stairs in Riomaggiore but that is part of the charm. We would definitely return and rent this same apartment! Loved it! The sunset views from our window were priceless in addition to the sound of the waves while we slept. The location is perfect - we loved staying in Riomaggiore and loved the location of this apartment.
Great views and atmosphere.
Robyn Fon 29/09/2016 21:55I guess it depends on what you are expecting. We were not disappointed. After 5 flights of stairs which felt like 10, I only wish my suitcase had been smaller (for my husband). The apartment in the Marina was gorgeous. Comfortable bed and a little kitchen upstairs. The bathroom was small but the water was hot and the plumbing worked. We found the stairs to the back alley an easier option even though you had to negotiate the tourists on the marina. We enjoyed the envious stares of them all every night as we watched the sunset from our little balcony with a glass if local wine. A great base to explore CinqueTerre.
Very basic, overpriced
vwoolworthon 24/09/2016 04:29Location was pretty good in the main area of town, but it is not the same location as the office. Also, the parking offered is very far away-- if the town garage is any cheaper, definitely do that. The apartment itself (double, ground floor) lacks any sort of charm. The bed is rock hard and the kitchen is poorly equipped. The only cutting board smelled bad and was visibly moldy.
I think some of the upstairs room would have a much nicer view and could potentially merit the cost. However, this double, ground floor room is definitely not worth it!
Lastly, if you arrive after 7:30pm, the directions to the room are terrible (if you don't speak Italian). Ask ahead of time for more clear directions.
Perfect Italian experience
Jenelle Kon 23/09/2016 07:18I had been to Italy before so I knew what to expect for the type of room/bed/bathroom. The suite we stayed in looked over the Main Street of Riomaggiore. When you looked out the window to the right it was a beautiful view of the water. We had a queen size bed which was much more comfortable than I was expecting. The pillows were good too. We stayed 3 nights and didn't notice the air conditioning until the 3rd night! It's above the door. Ha there was a small little kitchen and a nice table and chair set. Bathroom was average small size. I liked being able to escape for a drink but still be able to hear the commotion of the street below. We had quite a few flights of steps to get up to the apartment, but we had backpack luggage so it was fine. There is no wifi except at the office 100m up the street or so. But once you got there, the connection was good and there is a little step you can sit outside while you use the internet. Would definitely stay again!!
