What People are saying
Bad, but not the worst
Aleksandra Fon 13/10/2017 22:44Room was dirty, for all week the room wasn't cleaning and no one changing us the towels. We had to be ourselves throw waste away. Just few people from hotel staff spoke in english. As advantages we can add just localisation - near the city centre, supermarket and university.
Better than the appart'city in la roche sur yon
Murniekson 21/08/2017 23:06Stayed here following a visit to le puy du fou. Good location close to the centre and next to the Super U which gives it the 4*. You need to pre-book parking but there were spaces opposite. The concept is good, but i dont understand why they have carpet in these places which end up full of stains. They need to change their rusty old kitchen bins as well. Other than that, it was a comfortable stay.
Stop over
Jo Con 18/08/2017 14:37We are a family of four (2 under 5yrs old). We wanted a one night stay en route down south on holiday. We arrived at 5, checked in with an English speaking receptionist and then went to our room. The key locking system is challenging, but workable. The room had two beds, a kitchen and a bathroom. Everything was there, and the room was clean and functional. Let's be clear - it's not the Hilton but the price reflects that. There is a SuperU right next door, and we bought breakfast there rather than have theirs (slightly expensive for what you get). We ate in town in the evening. You're in University territory so all very quiet out of term time. The car park was full, but with bikes on top you can't use it anyway. Plenty of on street car parking which is free out of hours. We slept really well, and undisturbed. In sum, for the price paid, and with a degree of unpretentiousness and self-help, it's perfectly acceptable if all you want is somewhere to rest your head. I'd use it again.
We expected more
FordPrefectIIon 27/06/2017 11:59I don't need 5 emails with the Access Code before arrival, one will suffice. The last one even said we were arriving after official check-in time and will DEFINITELY NEED then code, but when we showed up, the desk was still staffed for another few hours.
Our booking said Wifi was included. The Wifi did NOT work in the room on any of our computers or phones; luckily your staff was understanding enough to provide us with a device at no extra cost to amplify the strength so we could capture Wifi.
The room was poorly and impractically designed - too much space wasted in the bathroom, not enough assigned to desk/fold-out table area. Our room was not facing a main street but it was incredibly noisy outside from staff voices (joking, laughing etc) and work noises like cleaning, etc.
Our kitchen had a note saying to leave it in a clean state or we will have to pay extra. At the same time when we arrived, we did not have clean glasses to drink water from. Is this a joke?
The door has a complicated locking system which basically either locks you out, or fails to lock at all. Go figure.
We've stayed in other Appart'City hotels around France before, usually had a pleasant stay and that's why we chose it again, but this experience has traumatised us. For the brand name we were expecting better standards. Luckily it was a one-night stop. Never again.
Pretty Good Budget Hotel
Bryan5025on 07/10/2016 09:32This hotel is in the centre of Angers and within walking distance of the river, bars, cafes, restaurants and main tourist attractions. Our room was more than adequate and way better than other budget hotels we've stayed in. The receptionists were all extremely friendly and keen to help whenever we needed advice on how to get tickets for attractions or on what transport to use. We arrived at 10:30 when check in wasn't till 15:00 but the helpful receptionist still let us park our car in the very convenient and secure car park. If you're looking for somewhere to purely to sleep and wash and also to keep the cost down whilst in Angers, this place will be hard to beat.
