Amazing Place to stay

HT718on 16/08/2017 22:20

Just returned home from another lovely week in this hotel. As always, the staff were welcoming and helpful. The apartments are roomy and well equipped and the position of the hotel is ideal for exploring this area of Southern France. The pool is always clean and never too busy. The maids make the bed each day and have a general tidy-up. (No safe in the rooms but we didn't lose anything). Each room is spacious, has it's own balcony, with the sun at the front in the morning and rear in the afternoons / evenings. Rooms are well equipped with kettle, fridge and hob, also a microwave so small meals are possible. Double beds are huge!
We use the local bus to explore the coast. It's just 1.5 euros each and you can get to Cannes for that or explore the opposite direction, Theoule sur Mer, which is lovely. There are lots of snack bars nearby and some lovely restaurants within easy walking distance. The River Siagne is a few minutes walk and has lovely towpaths. The beach is about a 20 minute stroll and is sandy, ideal for kids. The nearest Spar supermarket is about 10 minutes walk with a large Monoprix about 20 minutes away, in the main town.
Dogs are welcome for 10 euros a night and underground parking is available for 5 euros a night, although there is some free street parking available close by.
We took our own swimming towels but, unusually, they don't mind you taking their hotel towels down to the pool.
The air conditioning in each room is very efficient and quiet enough to run at night. We had to turn our fridge down as that rattled a bit and kept us awake.
We would definitely stay here again. It's great value for money, especially when booked as part of the British Airways package deal (less than £400 each inc flights from LHR!) even in August.

Quiet, modern, clean and good value

My partner and I stayed for 5 nights as an extension to a work trip. The hotel is in a quiet spot about 10 mins walk from the beaches and ports where there are many activités and restaurant offerings. We got the TGV from Paris and then Uber to and from the hotel, about 35 euro each way. The drivers found the place with no trouble. We arrived at about 10pm and check in was quick and friendly.

There is a small SPAR supermarket about 10 mins walk away and a good sized Monoprix about 5 mins after that. I got the train into Cannes a couple of times. The station is a 25min walk though there are buses nearby... I just prefer trains. There are some cute inexpensive restaurants near the station worth checking out.

The room was large, very clean and the bed comfy. It was great having a small kitchen. We had a ground floor unit away from reception. The pool is small but even in August we found there were periods where we could relax and enjoy a dip without fighting for a sun lounge. We did not have breakfast.

Our only negative comment is about the air conditioning. It barely blew air and did not reach a comfortable temperature. We left a maintenance request and it seemed to be better on the last day, so maybe we should have said something sooner, plus i tend to like to sleep in a cool room. I did notice other rooms with maintenance requests for the air conditioning hanging in their doors.

Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel, just maybe check the air conditioning before settling on a room.

Convenient location and nice hotel

We stayed at this hotel for two nights as part of a student EF tour group. Arriving to the hotel was a challenge for the bus due to the narrow roads but we were able to locate it with no issue. The closest the bus could get was about 50 yards so we had to move our luggage, but again, no issues! The staff was very friendly and quickly accomdated our group of 30 high schoolers. Rooms were spacious - small kitchenette (sink, mini fridge, table). Bathroom was large! Which is not common in European standards. Our AC wasn't super cool but that was not a big deal because the weather was nice. Each room has a patio or balcony. We were on the ground level so each night my husband and I sat outside as our students kicked the soccer ball around in the lawn. Breakfast was freshly prepared and had many options. Typical European buffet.
The location of the hotel was a 10 minute walk to the beach - directly across the street from a lovely golf course - and had a nice jogging path along a small river.
No complaints for this hotel. Definitely a nice choice for someone looking to save $.

Hard to Find

Rachel Jon 28/01/2017 01:51

I traveled here on an EF Tours trip, and it took our bus drivers nearly an hour to find the actual hotel. We stopped several times around town, and no one seemed to know where the hotel was either. Once in the hotel everyone had difficulty opening the doors because there was a certain way you had to unlock it that all of us were unfamiliar with. The rooms and bathrooms were adequately spacious and modern. The rooms also have balconies where you can enjoy the Mediterranean weather. Breakfast in the morning was good. There were many options, but their coffee machine seemed to brake every couple of minutes. Wifi was also difficult to deal with. It really only worked in the main lobby and only if a few people were using it at a time.

A very enjoyable stay

travellerman1963on 02/11/2016 01:32

I booked this hotel as part of a holiday with BA. Normally I would be a bit sceptical of a hotel at this price but based on other reviews I felt fairly confident and took the plunge, and like many others I was very impressed.

The hotel is about 20-25 minutes drive from Nice airport on a clear run, and yes you will want a hire car if you can as whilst not remote, it is a little bit off the beaten track . . . well actually literally down a track road. It's easy enough to find though about two minutes drive away from the main A8 motorway - just check on a map first, it's on google and apple maps etc.

Check in was straightforward as the paperwork was all ready and all I had to do was sign and pay the modest tourist tax. The room was modern, looked recently refurbished, clean and big enough for two adults and a child of 9 whose bed was already in the room which made a pleasant change as we had a very late arrival. We faced the front of the hotel and had a balcony big enough to eat out on in the evening which we did a few times even in late October. The mini kitchen was a handy addition. The free wifi was speedy too with no connection issues.

Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and that was really noticeable. Everyone from those on the reception desk, to the breakfast staff, the cleaners and maintenance seemed happy in their jobs and that was nice to see, so well done to all. Guests do notice and appreciate it.

There are four restaurants that we discovered within ten minutes walk of the hotel and more a bit beyond. You can also get pizza takeaway etc delivered to the hotel. We paid extra in advance for the hotel breakfast which was a good move as there is nowhere else nearby obvious that we could have gone. It was the usual selection of cereal, yoghurt, fruit (some days) pain au chocolat (they were nice) croissants, ham, cheese and some very tasty eggs and bacon. More than adequate for most.

We spent a very enjoyable 7 nights on the Cote d'Azur and were very happy to be at the
Comfort Suites. It gave us everything we needed at a great price and we will remember our time fondly. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making it such a positive experience.
