Comfy, but could be improved.
natnatx228on 30/03/2017 18:21Me and my boyfriend were travelling through France and decided to treat ourselves to a studio with cooking facilities. Appart city seemed cheap and cheerful. We enjoyed our stay in, found receptionists friendly enough and facilities comfy and welcoming. However, the issue was that nothing really worked properly. It didn't ruin the trip, as you learn to make do, but it's one of the reasons I sadly cannot rate it any higher.
Our hot water regularly went off, one night we lost it at 9pm, the other 7pm. We couldn't wash dishes or ourselves until the next morning unless we boiled a kettle and made do. The water would be off all evening, as we'd checked it around midnight to still find it ice cold. This isn't brilliant as the most basic hotels are capable of providing hot water throughout the day to guests. Our dishwasher had a fault. We used the washing machine facilities only to find the dryer was incapable of drying clothes. So I'd avoid using this if I was you and just sticking too laundrettes. We had to air overnight (as reception was closed so couldn't buy more tokens to start it again) and pay again in morning to dry them. Ended up very expensive. Our internet box didn't work, but we managed to connect to a neighbours signal. Overall - we found receptionists very nice, the play welcoming but it does let itself down In the fact that nothing works in the building correctly. Which is a real shame.
STAY AWAY BY ALL COSTS!
Rich_2K12on 19/07/2016 01:33We arrived at the hotel for a late check-in after driving up from Spain. The reception was closed as expected but a sign on the wall clearly asks all late arrivals to call a number to get a number for a safe in reception (which contained our key).
We called and briefly spoke to a rude staff member that couldn't seem to find the safe number so he hung up the phone, upon calling back the phone was hung up instantly and so on. We tried another 10-15 times with no luck, the phone was being put down deliberately.
As a result we couldn't open the safe and collect our room key leaving us in the lobby with all of our bags and nowhere to go.
Shocking service, I honestly don't know how establishments like this are still in business.
STAY AWAY BY ALL COSTS!
Very convenient
Boeykenson 05/12/2015 16:29Nice comfortable rooms, modern but not too spacious with little kitchenette, which is well equipped for a short stay. Convenient location in mid town, with lots of restaurants in the neighbourhood.
Very helpful and friendly staff
Dreadful place, dreadful staff
Makittenon 08/10/2015 15:21We were placed in this accommodation by the vehicle insurance company as our transport had broken down on a Saturday and would not be looked at until Monday afternoon (being France most places are shut not only Sunday but also Monday morning too).
We were given what must be the basic room with its basic bathroom. It did have a kitchenette with a fridge, two ring hob, microwave, kettle and tiny dishwasher (which didn't work). "What's wrong with that?" you ask, well probably not much if you like this sort of thing but it wasn't for me. It was mouldy in the bathroom along the bath and the towels provided were sandpaper rough and only one between two adults. No wifi, except at extra cost.
It is based in the commerce area so no bars or restaurants were open on a Saturday evening or Sunday. We did find one in a nearby hotel thankfully but only after walking and walking around in the dark in an unfamiliar place after spending 8 hours in sodden motorbike clothing having been caught in torrential rain and thunderstorms for 2 hours then breaking down. I suppose I needed rose petals on the floor and big fluffy towels and comfy surroundings, not what we got which seemed like one step up from a prison cell.
Add to all that the utmost, horrendously rude reception staff woman I have ever, ever, ever encountered. She was spectacularly rude, ignorant and unhelpful in the extreme.
I cannot recommend this accommodation and am saddened to have experienced it myself
HORRIBLE, TERRIBLE
TravelTsron 10/10/2014 07:25We traveled for 2 months and stayed in dozens of hotels. Many of them were Appart City residences and we knew they are not fancy. But this one was just plain disgusting. Many of the guests had dogs, and as you go up the elevators, you are standing next to big smelly dogs. They are in the hallways and the carpets smell strongly like urine and cigarette smoke. There was NO BED in the room. There was a small couch thing, big enough for one small child but we were 2 adults. The couch did not fold out into a bed and since it had a backrest, it was not wide enough for an adult to lie on. It was on a rickety metal frame with a broken leg so it wobbled and collapsed when sat on, it was quite dangerous. The room was so small, there wasn't enough room to even lie on the floor to sleep. The shower had warm water for about 3 minutes and then turned ICE COLD. My hair is long, and by the time I got shampoo in it, the water was too cold to rinse it out. People in the hall were smoking all night and dogs were barking. There is a small underground parking area but we were told it was full and we had to park in the street. When we checked out, the nasty lady at the reception tried to charge us for parking! We never used their parking lot! The room was not clean, the carpets were filthy. The reception was rarely open, even during hours they were supposed to be there it was locked up. when they were there, they were unfriendly and rude. Avoid this hotel, stay anywhere but here!
