Motel/Hostel not hotel
Lauren199on 06/07/2015 21:28This is not a hotel. I was very disappointed when I arrived. The 'hotel' is a very long walk from the town centre, taking 25-30 minutes. I booked a double room but arrived to a single bed. The reception is only open at certain times during the day so you are unable to speak to anyone when it is closed. There is no air conditioning in the room, so when it was 35 degrees and the sun was directly on my room I had to open the windows. However, being located on a very busy main road it was extremely noisy and I could not sleep. The hotel is over looked by tower blocks which played loud music until midnight. The breakfast was expensive for what you get nearly 10 euro for bread, ham and cheese, despite what the photos show around the hotel of yoghurt, fresh fruit and pastries these were no where to be seen. There is only wifi in the reception area, IF it is working and you are able to connect - which was extremely frustrating as this was a business trip and I could not work.
The positives are, friendly staff (when they are there), the rooms are very clean, big bathroom and bedroom, and kitchen fully stocked with utensils.
Nice but took some getting used to
Deb Son 11/08/2014 18:27We checked in on a Sunday which is a day when there is no staff. Door and safe deposit codes were to be texted but never came. Called a second time for the codes, received them (even with my poor French!) and it all worked out. Nice thing about the place was that all that has to work does: good beds and shower. Nice breakfast and good hospitable staff on Monday. Their dinner restaurant recommendation was great and very good value. Breakfast was okay.
Small
Tjeerdpostmaon 23/04/2014 13:22Sleeping for two nights in this "hotel"
When we came in as a groupe there was nobody at the reception..reception was just closed. Lucky for us the tour manager had the key for the room. Yes on key for two people.
When we entered the room it was a bit funny. It was more a one person room where the just putted an extra stretcher in it. A stretcher with a mattress of 12 cm. you can image I had two great nights
A place to feel like home during holiday
Stella1121on 20/08/2013 09:23Appart'City is very clean and the basic studio is well equipped and spacious. The price is reasonable. All the bus stations is within 5mins walk and it's about 15mins walk to the city center of La Roche Sur Yon. It's easy to get to the nearest beach by bus as well. As a traveler without a car, the convenience of public transportation is very important. Just need to make notes of the schedule of all the buses needed so that you don't have to wait for too long or miss the last bus. The receptionist is very helpful and friendly. The only downside is that my room is very close to the park lot and the appartment faced Appart' City is quite close so when I open the window, I could hear all the noises. Apart from this, the room is great.
A great find
nurse1898on 09/11/2012 09:27This is base camp for us so we can get to the start of the Vendee Round The World Race @ Sable D'Lonne.
No accommodation to be found bar this when I scoured the Internet a few weeks back so we did wonder what we would be like.
Great location in nearby town and easy to find. Our room is clean and spacious an has a great kitchenette which helps as travelling about and not always wanting to eat out.
Our room is located at the back so we don't pick up the traffic noise from the front. Warm with fast Internet access, this has been a great find and in easy access of town ad the train station. If we did this trip again would come back.
