What People are saying
A disappointment
mvb1826on 09/07/2017 21:47First, here's what I appreciated at this hotel. The receptionist, although relatively new at her job, was lovely, efficient, and welcoming. Although rooms were not available before 3pm, we also appreciated the fact that we could leave our luggage in a locked room for the small total fee of 2 euros. Once in the room, we also appreciated that the cleaners had done a good job with the bathroom, and the sheets were clean. The hotel's location is good - right across the street from the train station, and an easy walk to the downtown core.
On the other hand, the carpet in our suite (and in the hallway) was badly stained. There were numerous deep stains and various areas of discolouration where, clearly, things had been spilled. It gave the room a seedy appearance and made it difficult to feel that the room was clean. And although the sheets were clean, there was no mattress cover or pad: I would have preferred to have more than one sheet separating me from a mattress that clearly had seen better days,
Given the cost, I didn't get what I expected.
expensive but good
Bill Won 01/06/2017 19:16rooms were clean and everything worked fine. A bit heavy with the demand to leave the room as clean as we found it but providing absoluteley no tools to do this job. Bring your own sharp knife for the kitchen. Kitchen utensils average.
Very close to Lidls, Railway Station, Bus Station and another supermarket under the railway station all within 3 minutes walk.
15 minutes walk to the guts of the old town
Convenient
Joan Won 23/04/2017 19:20Right opposite the station.
Reception friendly and helpful.Kitchenette useful.City people friendly.
Apartcity in France only place to stay. Not too expensive.Carpet a bit soiled but overall cleanliness ok.
Beware of cleaning charges!
natnatx228on 08/04/2017 18:33We had such a nice stay in this hotel we booked an extra night. We should of spent this extra night heading down to the Lidl and buying a maids kit of cleaning products, because it would of been cheaper then their €10 Euro cleaning fee.
After wiping the surfaces down, and them not looking sparkling which,
I'm sorry you can only do that with glass cleaner, which you DONT provide. And emptying the fridge, washing the dishes through a dish washer. Emptying the bins, we were still charged the €10 euros. Which I can only assume is charged from a washed mug I left on the side to dry. It must of been a very unfit maid if moving a mug into a shelf Costs 10 euros!!! When we asked for evidence from hotel of charge, we were shown some fantastic images, including a picture of an over filled bin that wasn't ours. It's such a shame as we really enjoyed our stay and thought the hotel was lovely, but next time I stay in an Apart City I will ensure I bring my entire spring cleaning kit and return all mugs to their rightful homes. Don't stay here.
Clean & friendly but bureaucratic
Ace138on 22/03/2017 23:34Here for one night having arrived at the station too late to continue my journey. Shopping around gave me a reasonable overnight rate and no hassle to get here from the station. It is just across the road and next to the bus station as well as car rental offices etc.
I had a double room with a small kitchenette in the room and a separate bathroom with shower, no bath.
The room had a TV as well as a fridge, small dishwasher, microwave and sink as well as crockery and cutlery.
There is a G20 supermarket in the basement of the (rather sparsely occupied) shopping centre that includes the station. It seemed to be open until 8pm each evening. It had a pretty good selection of items from which to make an adequate evening meal. For breakfast there is an excellent bakery down the road to the right of the hotel when facing its entrance. Take away coffee as well as good croissants, pain chocolat and sandwichs for the onward journey.
A rather daunting French contract to sign on entry which seemed mainly to about being able to charge you for any damage to or loss from the room. A whole raft of extras offered - wifi, late check out, breakfast etc but I took none of them. Importantly there is also something about leaving the kitchen just as you found it to avoid an extra charge.
There was 1 Euro tax per person per night to pay in addition to my on line booking.
The only odd thing was when I was about to leave and said that I had cleaned and tidied the kitchen but there were some things in the dishwasher but it was still running I was told that this didn't count as being left as found and I would be charged if anything was left in the dishwasher! Needless to say I went back, took the things out of the running dishwasher, washed and dried them and told the staff that the running dishwasher was empty and I did not know how to stop it.
I will append details to this review if any charges come through on my credit card statement.
I must however sign off by saying whilst this is no Ritz-Carlton it is clean and convenient and I would stay there again if I needed an overnight stop. I would also use this hotel if I needed to stay in Perpignan for several days but I would upgrade to a bigger apartment.
