What People are saying

Nice small hotel in a perfect location

Ildiko Oon 13/08/2017 09:50

Aqua Ria is a recently renewed small boutique hotel with fairly big, nicely decorated rooms and comfy beds.
It is in the centre of the centre, in a great location, close to everything including the train station and the speedboat/ferry pier.
The staff is very nice and helpful, they also provide you with a bottle of wine and voucher to the spa on arrival which is a nice touch.
The restaurant is there for breakfast but needs a bit of re-thinking. They should have a bigger variety of choices and should eliminate the fly-issue which makes the buffet table a lot less charming.
The huge water tank did bother me as it displays shellfish on "death row" and has a cruel and sad view. Also the restaurant seems in a bit of a mess all the time and did not offer any vegetarian options.
The rooms are comfy and the tv have an ok choice of channels, some in English.
The lighting of the rooms could be improved, not enough light sources and some are in the wrong spot, for example in the bathroom. Also there is a lot of empty space left unused in the fairly big bathroom where there could be storage options, or at least some extra towel racks.
All in all a pleasant hotel with friendly people but some improvement could be done.

Nice hotel, well situated in the centre of Faro

It was a kind of last minute booking but i dont regret staying there, well situated, nice room and Angela at the reception helped us very well! She defintely can welcome a guest! Very professional and extremly nice!

Fabulous location and very comfortable

We wanted a four night city break stay in a comfortable hotel close to the centre of Faro and the Aqua Ria more than delivered. A really great welcome, beautiful bedroom with large bathroom inc walk-in shower and big bed. The room was air-conditioned (essential here!) and kept spotlessly clean. We only ate breakfast here but that was good (would have said 'great', but the hot food sits around a while!) but the situation is ideal as you are right in the centre, seconds from the marina and a short walk from Faro old town and the ferries out to the islands (Deserta being a 'must visit').

Comfortable, central but expensive

I mistakenly thought I had booked a good deal on this hotel on booking.com. Although the hotel was clean and comfortable I did not feel there was anything special to justify the prices. We hadno view and the rooms are very dark and a bit too warm during the day. It did have a very central location but I think other hotels in the area had more to offer. Staff were attentive but did not go out of there way to be helpful. The breakfast was good with lovely fresh fruit and good coffee.

Great spot for a Faro pitstop.

Stayed here for one night on our way west from the airport. Arrived early evening and we were made to feel really welcome by the staff. The room was "tight" but big enough for our needs. Very nicely appointed and a great shower room. The location is perfect for a stroll to the immaculate and charming old town or a short walk to the new part and the marina. Breakfast was delicious although the coffee was slow in coming. The hotel organised a transfer from the airport and back to the car hire in the morning with no fuss or bother. Didn't eat at the restaurant but not because it didn't look nice, it did, very. We just wanted to venture into town. All of the staff that we spoke with were exceptionally nice and couldn't be more helpful with tips and advice. All in all, really good and would definitely return. 👍
