Good hotel breakfast is chaotic

This is a lovely hotel in a nice spot in bardolino with just a short walk into town. The hotel is modern and clean. We used the pools daily which was nice after a days walking around town, we only used the heated pools as it was to cold to be dipping in the others. The only issues we found with this hotel was that breakfast was chaotic. The food on offer was excellent and of a high standard the only issue stems from the staff. They seemed to be short staffed and the staff that are working are running around almost playing catch up. During breakfast one lady took my cup of coffee that I had only just started drinking away and also my fresh orange and the same for my partner and wasn’t interested when we said we haven’t finished so we had to go get more, on returning the same lady was now taking our plates with food still on, another member of staff was telling her that we hadn’t gone and we were also stood there saying we haven’t finished but she took them and half of the cutlery which had to be replaced and then we had to go get food again but had to take it in turns so our breakfast wasn’t pinched whilst we weren’t looking. All in all it didn’t ruin breakfast but was annoying. We found this every time we went for breakfast and other guests found this also. There was also not enough tables as there was guests so people were waiting around trying find a table. This is still a fabulous hotel, if they get on top of there staffing issue at breakfast I would of given it a full five.
Lovely stay - amazing pools & spa

We stayed 2 nights at Aqualux and would love to have stayed a week or more. The hotel is modern, sharply designed, and has all the mod cons one could imagine. We had three adults with an elder daughter in a triple room looking over the pools and had plenty of space. Breakfast was outstanding and the bars friendly and experienced. Staff were friendly and very accommodating.
The 8 pools and dozens of jets at Aqualux were just amazing. We felt like kids exploring all the different experiences especially a circular pool with jets sending everyone in circles creating a lot of fun. This would be brilliant place for kids.
We also loved Bardolino which was an easy 5 minute walk. Lots of nice restaurants including many with views over the lake and classy shopping. Cycling around the lake was also easy and fun.
Fabulous base for my visit to Lake Garda!

I stayed at the hotel for 10 days in September 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Aqualux is a very modern hotel with an excellent standard of accommodation and very friendly and professional staff. I was warmly welcomed and the service was first class throughout. The food was good, and all in all, the hotel was a most relaxing base for my Italian holiday. I am pleased to recommend it and will certainly stay there again on any future visit to Bardolino.

Arrived for a weeks holiday. We had emailed the hotel in advance to ask for a quiet room removed from traffic noise. We received a reply stating they would do their best to accommodate us.
We arrived around 9.15 pmThere was no welcome drink and the receptionist who seemed to be in a hurry told us the restaurant closed at 9,30 pm. She pointed to the direction where the restaurant and our rooms were located.
We made it to the restaurant on time had our meal and we were then presented with a rather large bill. The waiter on duty told us we were in the a la Carte restaurant and this incurred a charge. We had followed the receptionists direction to the letter and we were not aware that there were two restaurants and we were in the wrong one.
The next morning we informed the receptionist on duty of what had happened
and she informed us we wouldn’t have to pay the bill.
Unfortunately we received a room beside a noisy road contrary to our request. We asked if it was possible to get a room away from the traffic noise as we had both had a sleepless night. We were told we would have to pay an extra 300 euros to move. As there didn’t appear to be any alternative we had no choice but to agree to pay it. We were told by the reservations manager that the 300 euros charge was a discounted rate and she also confirmed we would not have to pay the restaurant bill.
Unfortunately we made a complaint about our experience with our holiday rep who tried to help us. He spoke with the overall manager who I believe is called Lara and she told him to tell us she was now going to charge us for the restaurant bill plus the extra 300 euros for the change of room.
Eventually Thomson picked up the tab for the restaurant bill. Beware if you go to this hotel they tell you one thing and do another and cannot be trusted.
On a positive note the restaurant staff were very pleasant and the receptionist staff could learn a thing or two from them as their customer service left a lot to be desired. We would never return. It is a very expensive hotel and is most definitely not good value for money.
Lovely hotel and perfect base for Lake Garda

We stayed here for 6 days towards the end of May and overall it was a very pleasant stay. The hotel is very modern and well-designed with a particular emphasis on the central courtyard and gardens, which are lovely.
The hotel takes its environmental credentials very seriously and that did mean the air conditioning wasn't as powerful as you may expect, however, it was sufficient and I can appreciate good intentions. Unfortunately we didn't get have the chance to avail of the pool and spa facilities but they did look superb.
Personally I found the hotel very relaxing and while there were children they weren't too loud.
The service from staff was very good and friendly and the only hiccup we experienced was in regard to laundry servicing but that problem aside it was a hassle-free stay. The hotel is only 5 minute walk from the town so it's very handy.
We didn't have lunch or dinner in the hotel but the breakfast service was excellent with an array of options, it does take a couple of attempts to navigate the breakfast room as the food is spread out across various tables the length of the restaurant. The cooked-to-order omelettes and waffles are a nice touch as is the freely available prosecco so you can start your day with a glass of bubbles!
The bar never gets too busy so can lack a bit of atmosphere but it does have a great array of drinks and some very nice gin options. Service was also very attentive and friendly.
If we were to return to Lake Garda we'd stay her again as it's probably one of the nicest hotels available on the lake, just a shame you can't get any lake views from the hotel.
