Absolute perfect hotel! Great food, service, Beach and everything you could imagine.

Especially the entertainment group made a diffrence!
This group of girls made my vacation 100x better, they always had a smile on their faces and they were full of energy.
Especially Lliana who helped me with a lot of things, she always gave me a smile!
Never change. :)

Beautiful hotel in a stunning setting

Annacarla17on 31/07/2017 18:18

This hotel is situated approximately 25 mins from the airport on the West Coast of Corfu and a taxi will cost you approx.35 euros.

As you descend the steep hill down to the Mayor Pelekas Monastery hotel, you can't help but be inspired by the stunning bay that this hotel sits in.It is simply breath taking.

Surrounded by trees, and only a dozen other properties in this location, it feels a million miles from the hustle and bustle of Corfu town- The sea was crystal clear and warm and the hotel had plenty of sun beds and umbrellas although like most places these days, you need to get up early to claim prime positions on this sandy beach.
The hotel is modern, painted in a muted palette of cream, whites and grey. The hotel is immaculate throughout and facilities are lovely.

The staff are all welcoming, friendly and so helpful if you have an issue, which we did with a creaky bed - (they changed our room in the end having first changed our mattress and also tried to put a topper on it. But it was the base - so the room change was very welcome as we were struggling to sleep due to the noise.)

We had a superior room with a partition overlooking the sea, which was spacious enough for three of us- the double sofa bed was fine for our 14 year old son.
There are four restaurants, the main one being a buffet style serving a variety of Mediterranean food to suit most tastes (great desserts!) and the vista from there was gorgeous. When you arrive you are also booked into two of their a la carte restaurants which gives you a break from the buffet. The Olive Restaurant was particularly good.
There was a variety of entertainment by the pool bar each evening which was also very good.

This is a hotel I would definitely consider returning to and would recommend for a relaxing beach holiday.

Beautiful hotel set perfectly on the Beach with wonderful restaurant Tortuga

GunhildAAon 30/07/2017 18:08

The hotel is beutifully set on the beach below the village of Pelekas. The beach is clean and well kept. Above the hotel offers a variaty of eating in the buffé restaurant Petra with a large variety of food. And also the restaurant Tortuga, just above the beach where we watched the beautiful sunset sky and enjoyed the outmost perfect service and a delicious meal. We were there to visit my daughter who works for Apollo and we enjoyed participating in both Yoga and other training groups, where she adjusted the training perfectly to all participating, also me, a lady of 53... We throughly enjoyed our stay in Pelekas and visiting Mayor Pelekas Monastery.

Beautiful hotel and facilities let down by poor management 😑

This is a clean and immaculate hotel in a good location with fantastic views and sunsets right on the beach.

So i will start with listing the poaitives (there are many)

Positives
Beach ~ sandy and sea is nice and shallow, plenty of free sunbeds and no fights to get them early. Drinks served.by 2 waiters on tje beach (who do a fabulous job keeping you hydrated) and also being watermelon round in thr afternoon.

Pool area - pool is nice and waa warm, also quite shallow. Pool areahas lovely views aa there is glass barriers but the glass relects tbe sun and blocks breeze so it hotter up therr compared to the beach. Pool bar is well stocked and staff arw very good.

Rooms: Our room was lovely and seemed to have been renovated, free safe in room and dressing gowns and slippers are provided, fridge in room with a bottle od water in which is replaced everyday. Clean and tidy. Our sea view was spectacular as we were tbe highest part of the whole hotel.

All inclusive/ restaurant
~ restaurant is beautiful with fabulous views, large seating area inside and outside. Main restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Red, white and sparkling wine, beer and soft drinks are available at meal times served to your table.

~ food was excellent, great choice and all well cooked.

~ drinks on all inclusive there is a good range of drinks on it. Cocktails, beer wines and spirits all available - recommend the Irish cream😁

Al a carte restaurants both ok - you get to visit them once eavh per stay. You are given your day and time for them when you check in - but you can change this if you want to. Also there is a late breakfast in one al a carte restaurant and snacks in the afternoon, ice creams available from coffee bar.

Main hotel areas ~ all well decorated and clean. The hotel is in the side of a big mountian/hill so lots of steps to walk up and down, but there are lifts in parts of it - they were a godsend as there were 191 stairs from the beach to our room which was tough in the heat!

Spa - lovely staff and maasages we had were good. Only thing i would say is that being asked about spa treatmenta every time you go to the resteraunt gets a bit boring!

Staff: most staff were very friendly and helpful and worked very hard from bar staff to reception, cleaners and entertainment team (special mentiom that the entertainment team were friendly but not too pushy!

Local area: minibus takes you to the top of the hill nr the village and its dead easy to get a bus to corfu town - would recommend for seeing the fort and shopping. Also you can walk from where the mini bus drops you - through pelekas village which is tiny but beautiful and locals are very friendly. Recommemd the bakery😁 take a walk up to kaisers throne with brilliant views across corfu.

And for the Negatives:

When we arrived whilst checking in the receptionist was distracted and answered the phone around 10 timed whilst supposedly serving us - wr didnt mind as she was so friendly. A lovely man showed us to our room and this is wherr things change.

We had paid extra for a sea view twin room and our room was mountain view (facing a wall) and had the beds made up into a double. The man phoned reception who said they had no other rooms and we would have to stay that night and be moved The next morning at 10.30am.

So we didnt unpack and went the next day at 10.30am only to be told that we will get a room later and that she only asked us to come up at 10.30 to tell us tbe procedure. What worried us was that there seemed to be a whole list of people who were in the same position.

Anyqay we were told to go back at 12.30pm, still not unpacked (so spoiling our first day) we went back at 1.30pm only to be told the room wasn't ready- felt messed around. Spoke with the lady manager who seemed not to care and just kept saying "what can we give you" we told her that it wasnt about getting something from them but wanting them to not do this to people on their first night as it spoils thw start of the holiday. I advised that we saw there was others too and het response: "well we always overbook rooms" her attitude was poor and she ignored us for the rest of our stay. She did give us a 20 minute massage for the trouble.

Anyway we did finally get our room key and our room as mentioned above was lovely and views were amazing.

Another negative was that i found a stone in my chickpea salad and again when talking to the restaurant manager who tried to deny it and say it was a chickpea stone! (Clearly thought i was stupid) he then went away with the stone and didnt return and no apology and again he then avoided us for the rest of our stay!! Also being a veggie somedays there were loads of hot veggie options and on 2 days there were none - maybe spread them out over the days so there are a few everyday.

Entertainment all pretty poor but no different to anywhere else we have been though!

All in all a lovely holiday at a nice hotel with views. But management don't seem too bothered about customer experience and satisfaction which lets this place down.

Can't fault the hotel - Excellent all around

My fiancé and I visited Corfu in May 2017. We arrived at Mayor Pelekas which is only half an hour drive from the airport and were greeted by very friendly staff. The room was lovely and the views on the balcony were absolutely breathtaking. The cleaners came everyday to change bedsheets and towels an tidy up, unless we put the do not disturb sign on the door. All inclusive food was always great and there was always a different mix everyday of hot food and the same cold food everyday (olives, cheese etc). We tended to stay up in the buffet area rather than the A La Carte because it was just so nice!

The pool area was lovely. Always beds available no matter what time of the day. The pool bar was easy to get to and the all inclusive drinks were great! Access to the beach couldn't be any easier either.

Our holiday was made by entertainment team though. We got to know Iliana and her team well during our time and partaking in the many activities that they plan. We were very sad to leave and they were the people that we missed the most! Iliana was a great joy to be around.

We would definitely return to this hotel in the future, if the entertainment team is as good as it was!
