Very nice hotel and staff
331orsolyabon 26/08/2017 21:19I spent only 2 days in this hotel, but it was very nice. My room was big, nice bed and bathroom. Only the minibar (or a small fridge) was missing for me. My room faced to the street behind the hotel and it was a bit noisy even by night (hot summer night-I slept by open window). Breakfast buffet is really awesome with local specialities (I loved the cheese).
Could be better air, otherwise fine
Camilla Won 28/07/2017 15:34Bad ventilation and still it wasn't warm outside. Fan in room but no aircondition. Nice clean room. Table, chair, TV. WiFi working. Good bed. Good breakfast. Tea and coffee in room. Nice staff. I'll be back!
Lovely hotel
SheralTxon 17/07/2017 13:56Spent one night here to attend a concert. Fabulous welcome when we arrived. Had a room for 3 adults. Clean and quiet. No air conditioning but cool breeze at night with windows open. (Had a tower fan) Heated bathroom floors must be great in the winter months! Small but adequate shower. Lovely breakfast included and staff very friendly managing the tables. Have never stayed at this particular chain but would again if needed. Nice accommodations. Free train voucher was included which was convenient since we didn't want to drive to concert venue! Parking was close to hotel. Nice neighborhood with several little nice restaurants. Had nice little balcony. This is a lovely no frills European hotel.
We cannot recommend staying there!
Carsten Von 02/07/2017 22:12I actually booked a standard room for 2 persons but they got a booking for a single room. The hotel management used this mistake to completely rip us off.
The room we got was large, but curtains were falling down. The bed itself was just 1.40m in size, but for 2(!) persons in a room for more than 200€ per night. Although it was only 14 degrees outside we had about 26 degrees inside the room.
The bathroom was super small. Maximum 1 person fittet into that room.
Parking in the area is difficult to find.
Such friendly welcoming staff!
BeatiMundoCordeon 30/06/2017 21:29Welcome: 5 stars. We never felt so welcome in a hotel before. This chain also gives little teddy bear mascots to kids, which we found so delightful. We were also told there is a fruit station and a jug of fruit juice in reception which we were free to avail of any time we liked. Perhaps it is standard in Bern, but we got tickets for the public Transport when we checked in (this is covered by the city tax which you have to pay when you stay a night in Bern).
Room: 4.5 stars. The room was very clean, TV and air conditioning and tea-making facilites and bottles of water. Shower very good but we had a bit of difficulty locking the door and the towels were too small.
Location: 5 stars. Very close to Bern train station and only a minute walk to the number 12 busstop "Mittlestrasse", and three stops to the train station. The buses are as regular as clockwork (Well it's Switzerland, right? ;+)
Breakfast: 4.5 stars. There is bacon and scrambled eggs, all kinds of bread, jams, yoghurts and cereals. However there was no fork or tongs to pick up the bacon and so you had to use the spoon for the scambled eggs which was not so easy. Also if you are not early all the bacon will be gone... Breakfast is served from 06:30 to 10:30 which is a very good interval. Coffees teas and orange and multivitamin juice also on offer.
Sleep Quality: 3.5 stars. The room is to hot when it is hot outside and the air conditioner doe snto help greatly. If you leave the window open overnight expect to be woken by city trucks at 5 in the morning.
Overall we loved the hotel, especially by the welcome we were given and the staff really showed that they were interested in the wellbeing of thier guests. For this reason primarily it gets a rating of 5.0.
