Beautiful temple
PieTravelson 05/08/2017 19:55This place does not look like temple actually, perhaps because it was not preserved that well. However, this is a large beautiful area, where you can go for a nice stroll and enjoy the sense of ancient town. Even without reading the guide book you can tell that this place played a significant role in the town.

Kelly Won 19/07/2017 20:51The temple of Jupiter - My favourite part of Pompeii by far! A stunning example of how the Roman Town would have looked and a significant feature within Pompeii. If you only take one photograph whilst visiting then let this be the one, with the backdrop of Mount Vesuvius it really is a stunning iconic image.
The main Temple on the forum
Bodillymillon 14/07/2017 14:18If you have a guide book you can see an artists representation of how the temple and the forum sat together... Its impressive and oddly almost in the same place as the temple of Saturn in the roman forum in Rome. Making me believe that maybe Forums have a basic plan they all adopt!!

John Lon 10/07/2017 19:19The Temple of Jupiter, built in the 2nd century BC, is dedicated to the highest divinity of ancient times. The temple 'closed off' the fourth side of the square where there were no colonnades.
