What People are saying

A nice surprise

WalterGaason 26/07/2016 08:38

From the outside, this hotel looks like nothing special. Once incide, you'll find a nice welcome, a great atmosphere and charming and spacious rooms. Airco will cost you extra, mind you! The hotel offers parking space, a correct breakfast and a nice terrace. Recommend for a short stay or stop-over!

exceptional customer service

We spent three nights there in the last week and were sad to leave,
Sebastian and team very welcoming and always smiling. Rooms very clean and beautiful. Popped in today on way home and despite no longer being resident made to feel very welcome. I would highly recommend this hotel. Chris.

Overnight stop in Normandy, a good surprise

Lanoka_Harbor_Tourson 01/06/2016 16:42

We picked this hotel in the town of Bagnole de l'Orne as a convenient location on our way between Brittany and going towards the North of France. We booked a suite as a convenient and budget friendly way to accommodate two adults and a kid

We were very surprised by this small hotel which was very cute and well maintained. The room we had was spacious with a view of the garden court. It was calm and the beds were confortable. Our daughter slept on a sofa bed which the hotel staff came to prepare and set for her. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and make us feel welcome.

We also dined at the restaurant which was absolutely excellent

A Good Hotel for our Overnight Stop

Jane Lon 01/09/2015 17:06

This hotel provided good accommodation for our last night in France after a two week holiday. The Reception staff were extremely pleasant and with a mixture of French and English we were able to communicate very well! There is a small lift which takes you up to the bedrooms or you can use the stairs! Our room overlooked the front which was on the main road leading down towards the Lake. However, even at 2300hrs on a Saturday night there was no outside noise. The room and bathroom were slightly tired and could have been updated but both rooms were spotless. The room were breakfast was served was too small for the number of people staying at the hotel - it would have been far better if breakfast had been served in the Dining Room. Some guests were able to take their breakfast out onto the terrace but this was only made available when staff realised there was no seating inside! This may all sound as if I am being negative but we enjoyed our stay and it was in a perfect location to explore the town. An hotel I would consider returning to if we were in the area.

Excellent food and good rooms

After looking for hotels in this area we chose Le Normandie and were not disappointed.
On arrival we received a friendly and efficient welcome from reception, which continued with all of the other staff we met throughout our stay. The location is just right, a pleasant 5 minute walk down to the lake. We were able to park in the Hotel car park, there are spaces for around 8 cars. We had one of the first floor courtyard rooms, which would not be suitable if you struggle with stairs. The room itself was nicely furnished and modern, double glazed with french windows with electronic shutters, opening onto the walkway. We were able to open these with the shutters partly open during the evening, as there is no a/c it can get warm.
Not sure what the other rooms are like, but the ones facing the courtyard all seemed to be the same.
The food was excellent, we ate here twice both times in the courtyard. For our first evening meal we both had the aubergine starter, our mains were the pork dish and cod, followed by the best creme brulee I have tasted, the other being a dark chocolate dish with a flavoured ice cream centre. Our second evening meal was just as good as the first, starters were one aubergine the other a salmon carpaccio, mains were one steak the other bass, for desert the cheese board. Breakfast the usual pastries and bread all fresh and regularly restocked.
Overall a really good place to both stay and eat.
