Great location, clean large room
Karen Son 25/08/2017 04:15Clean and modern room with a European "double" bed (two twins together to make a king). Sink/shower area was behind a curtain, not in separate room. The location was great, only two minutes from a metro station and LOTS of restaurants around. Continental breakfast was decent. Would stay there again for sure!

hulahoop11on 23/08/2017 18:56Room was larger than expected from the photos on the website (maybe we were given an upgrade). The room was at the back of the hotel so the view wasn't great but it was very quite with no outside noise which was great for a peaceful nights sleep. Found the bed comfortable with a good quality mattress and two different types of pillow. The room offered international TV channels, good wifi, hairdryer, safe, minibar iron & board on request but no kettle.
The hotel is located about 15 min walk or few minutes in a taxi from Berlin HBF. The Oranienburger underground station is a 2 minute walk away. Buy the 7 euro all day ticket if you plan to make a lots of journeys and don't forget the valid the ticket.
Didn't eat breakfast in the hotel as we prefer to eat out and did find a great and very reasonability priced bakery directly across the road. Also a good range of bars and restaurants nearby with the PHO Vietnamese and NAMU sushi being our favourites.
Friendly receptionist who offered advice and the usual maps etc helped make our stay enjoyable and found the hotel great for the price paid.
Quirky
Sarah Son 02/08/2017 22:30Arcotel Velvet is a very quirky hotel. The layout for a room with two beds was not the usual for any hotel I've ever been to, with both beds pushed up against the wall on the horizontal side, but it left a wide open walking space which was nice.
The funniest part was the bathroom/shower situation. The rooms with two beds have a separate room with a door (I heard that one bed rooms just have a sheer curtain!) but the oddest part is that there's just a shower head in the middle of the wall opposite, with nothing to designate it as a showering area (no doors, curtains, walls, etc). So you're basically just showering in the middle of the room. The whole bathroom will get soaked, but then, the whole bathroom is the shower, so... All in all, it was a funny experience, but not a bad one at all!
Great location, large modern room
Stephen Pon 24/07/2017 03:42This was a great location just inside of the former East Berlin. Very close to the Neue Synagoge ("New Synagogue"). This is a neighborhood in transition. It seems a bit dodgy at first but was fine. I expect given the construction it will all be gentrified soon.
The room was surprisingly large for a European hotel. The furnishings were very modern.
U2 Tour 2016
daviddoyleartson 15/07/2017 19:26Very pleasant receptionist asked eager checking 2 gusts this would be my second occasion visiting this fine city I've never had a problem with it.
Extremely clean and tidy location in the heart of Berlin and only a short walk from an Irish bar excellent restaurants in the area. Breakfast was average but the price we paid I was not complaining for note I would have no problem recommending this location or hotel for any future concert events.
