Lovely wee spot
Arbootnooton 27/07/2017 08:39We were doing Europe by train on a budget, but needed certain home comforts, like en suite, when we stumbled across L'Argentiere.
We'd be arriving later the their 8pm limit; however, a quick email to the hotel, and they made arrangements to have a key left for us. We did struggle to get the bus out from the San Marco train station, but that was more to do with the roadworks.
On arrival we were surprised at the surroundings. It was comfy and pleasant. The air-con worked brilliantly, there was a nice wee walk to the shops locally. The bed was firm but that's ok for travellers like us.
Only issue I had to be honest was the shower cubicle was tiny. As a 6'4" fella, I felt cramped. Pillows were a bit thin too, but I'm sure we'd have got extra if we asked.
Views from the roof were stunning.
Staff couldn't have been more helpful.
A nice spot to stay, out of the city
Be careful

Bed as hard as a rock
ab1215on 07/07/2017 11:39Hotel is out of main part of Florence, but accessible by the #11 La Gora bus. No lift, so if on 2nd floor like us, you'll have to carry luggage up 4 flights of stairs. Bed very hard (2 singles joined). Hotel extremely noisy - made worse by parents letting their kids run up and down the hall yelling util 11pm, then again from 7am. No staff intervened in any way. Doors are very noisy when being shut and locked with the 1920s style keys, so you'll be woken up every time someone arrives back at their room. Size of room is okay. Wifi is pathetic and rarely worked. TV is the size of an iPad, so bring your binoculars! Romm was relatively cheap, but still 3 times overpriced for the experience. It's more like a hostel where kids run free and the noise is overwhelming from every aspect.

mckyleyflamminion 29/06/2017 18:58The room was clean and in good shape. Overall good location in town. Little bit of a walk but not bad. Helpful and friendly staff. Really great price. Didn't ever have the breakfast so I can't comment on that. Overall great stay.
Good value, helpful staff
pgwodeshedon 16/06/2017 17:41This B&B (breakfast is extra) is comfortable and has a nice sunny terrace with a good view. Cristina and Roberto are friendly and helpful hosts, and the other staff are also friendly, helpful, and conscientious--one helped me coax a reluctant washing machine back to life. There is a separate rooftop for hanging laundry, and the rooms have air-conditioning that can be partially controlled by a remote device (though the AC also seems to be centrally controlled). My room was the least expensive one and quite basic, but quite pleasant. A narrow winding staircase led to a loft with a large double bed, wardrobe, tables, and lamps. The shops are just a 5- minute walk away and include 3 pasticcerie, a bank (with international ATM/cashpoint inside), a small grocery/deli, a rosticceria, a pizzeria, and a shop for basic hygiene needs (soap, toothbrushes, etc.). These shops are all around a small area known as Due Strade. It's worth the 5 minute walk to Due Strade (although there are closer bus stops) because from Due Strade there are 3 bus lines into the city center (11, 36, and 37), a 10 minute trip (20 minutes during rush hour). The rapido bus to Siena also stops at Due Strade. Bus service from city center back to the Argentiere is spotty to non-existent after 10:00pm, but it's a cheap taxi ride or a pleasant, safe walk in good weather.
