What People are saying

Anniversary

Suzanne Mon 14/05/2017 14:32

Loved it! Staff so friendly. Inn so cozy. The food was fantastic. Even though our weather wasn't very good, we were able to walk the beautiful grounds. We hope to make it every year for our anniversary.

We enjoy being "one of the folks" when we stay at West Mountain Inn.

We have stayed in many of the rooms and are never disappointed. The staff are very kind and added another layer of comfort to our recent stay. Both dinner and breakfast were wonderful. We cannot wait to return.

Wedding Weekend

The setting is beautiful, the food was excellent, the staff was wonderful. They even provided good weather!

The weekend began with a short rehearsal on Friday followed by a "champagne toast" with Vermont cheeses, fruit and crackers. This was proceeded by a buffet welcome dinner with generous portions of bbq favorites. Friday night ended with campfire and s'mores.

The meadow amid the mountains was a simple and memorable place for the wedding ceremony. This was followed by hor d'oeuvres and drinks (including locally brewed beer) in the meadow and dinner and dancing in the barn.

The barn was a great venue for dancing and the grilled cheese sandwiches and french fries at 11 pm were a highlight. The weekend ended with brunch on Sunday, again generous portions of delicious food.

The staff was the most remarkable part of the whole weekend. They responded immediately and graciously to any request, such as providing golf cart transportation for guests with a handicap, to vegan plates upon request and ample coffee and a cookie jar at any time of day.

I WOULD COME BACK IN A HEARTBEAT - VERY MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE

My spouse and I came up to Vermont for our anniversary. We wanted a nice dinner - someplace off the beaten path with white table cloths - someplace that cries out "this is Vermont". After searching the internet, we selected
West Mountain Inn. We made 6pm reservations and arrived around 5:45. The inn itself is located a few minutes off Rt 7A but it is truly rural, up a dirt road with fantastic mountain views. I had a glass of wine from the bar and a very nice assortment of cheeses were there for the taking. We spent some time "hanging out" in the parlor and
looked at the booklets of wedding photos that were held on the premises. A few minutes after 6, we were seated in the dining room. We selected a table with great mountain views and chef Paul immediately came to our table.
Paul assured us that we would be very happy here - and needless to say we were. The food was fantastic - we selected the scallop special and the salmon. Of course, fresh rolls and salad was served as well. Throughout the meal, the service was superb. We never had to ask for more water - Paul was extremely attentive. There is nothing more we hate than going to a restaurant and searching for a server - that just does not happen here because they care. Paul even gave us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary - totally unexpected but most appreciated. All in all, I highly recommend West Mountain Inn and we will be back. Next time, we would love to stay there as well - but anyone can dine there; guest or not. So, what are you waiting for? This place is GREAT.

Lovely Time
