Group Visit to Riederalp
Graeme Mon 20/08/2017 19:04We booked the Art Furrer hotel for a group whilst walking in the area. we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel which offered excellent accommodation. The pool was very welcome after a long day's walk and the dinner provided by the hotel was excellent. Our stay was brief but very enjoyable. I'd certainly look to use this hotel again.

DorCheungon 05/08/2016 07:32I stayed in this hotel on 28 July 2016. The hotel is on the hill and you need about 10 minutes’ walk from the Rideralp Station to the hotel.
The whole hotel was decorated in traditional Swiss style (e.g. wooden furniture) and every room got a balcony. Outside the hotel there was a big piece of grassland and it was good to have a walk / jog around. For the rooms, not fashionable yet comfortable.
Since it was summer time, the sun sat after 10pm. At midnight I went to the balcony and saw many stars in the sky! So amazing and I took my best star trail photo there!
Resort Hotel for relaxation
YTCHENGon 07/09/2015 06:27The hotel has four separate buildings in connection with its group and Art Furrer is the 4th one on the roll. The hotel structure is stylish of timber structure but simple and clean in all aspect. The staff are patient and efficient. The rooms are spacious and you can view the mountains and golf lawn from the balcony without going out of the hotel. The breakfast buffet is adequate and the environment is peaceful and relaxed. We have stayed in this hotel for one day but we got hold of the time to snapshoot many pictures on the snow-capped mountains from sunset till sunrise prior to our visit to the top of Riederalp.
Highly recommend travellers to stay in this hotel during your visit to Riederalp.
Tradditional Swiss fitment and furniture Room, Great to learn and live
Dlsonon 01/09/2015 08:34As a family(3 people), hotel just upgrade our room to a big room at the top of the west building, with well swiss style fitment and furniture, in the middle of big living room, even has a real fireplace, we just image the warm time after ski, even in Aug. still enjoy a lot for a great view to a whole golf, and first sunshine to the mountain in west side each morning.
It is a quite area, easy to reach both cab, either to the hohfluh(then to real walk and touch the ice river/Aletsch gletscher), or down and transfer to Belap, to enjoy the UESCO panoramaweg.
The swim pool is well managed, which help us to release our legs in all 3 days, if anything to move to perfect, is the dinner food, it is good, we are seeing fish and pizza are both just purchased from supermark.

2travelhonieson 29/08/2015 03:27The building was very old with old elevators, compared to the newer and better buildings "Royal" of the same property.
The bathroom in my room was simple and clean....but the way they hang the shower curtain was a bit inappropriate, leaving not enough room to take a proper shower.
As in most of the countryside hotels, Swiss plug only.
My room has a kitchen, with stove and fridge. Don't know if there were in working condition.
My room had a large balcony overlooking the alps with a 9 hole golf course right in front of the hotel. There were some activities nearby which might keep the kids entertained.
The Wi-Fi was strong and free.
Breakfast was very simple but OK.
Too bad the morning that I went up to higher grounds through ski lift was raining heavily with lightning...so I was wet wet and had seen nothing....supposed to see the Aletsche Glacier.
There were a few shops and cafes closeby the gondola terminal.
Enjoy the view while you can!!
