Splendid little shelter in the heart of St Petersburg
Kieran Oon 07/08/2017 16:22We spent a very enjoyable few days in this little gem as recommended by friends. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel you need to search elsewhere. If, however, you are content with a cosy, clean, and friendly spot to rest your bones after a day's exploration of St Petersburg then this is the place for you. Located only a short distance from Nevsky Prospect the hotel offers everything you might need and with a rather quirky ambience. The guest house is located on the third floor of a rather grand building and does not have lift access.
Art Housse has the best price for such a nice hotel at a very convenient location.
Carelia Don 19/06/2017 07:32Located just off Nevsky Prospect and very close to Metro and Moscovsky train station, It`s a 15 minutes stroll down to Hermitage. The Cathedral of Our Saviour of the Spilled Blood is nearby. There is a boat trip from the pier, which is half an hour walk straight down Nevsky Prospekt until you get to the river.
Right outside you can choose between lots of cafes and good restaurants.
This hotel has a personalized touch in each room --we stayed in room #1, Dali room-- which made our stay more pleasant.
The staffs are very pleasant swiftly responding to our questions via e-mail before we arrived, and providing the supporting documentation necessary for my husband to obtain a visa.
I highly recommend this hotel!
Gem of a hotel in a superb location with friendly staff
Jacqueline Gon 26/05/2017 21:19Pleasantly surprised by locality of this superb little guest house. Just off Nevsky Prospect and very close to Metro and Moscovsky train station. Has 'Olympic' supermarket directly opposite and if you go left out of the hotel and cross the road, you'll find a terrific indoor market, Kuznechny Market, a couple of streets along which includes friendly English speaking vendor selling good quality matryoshka dolls. Art House is small and if you don't like large impersonal hotel chains then this is ideal. Our room was bijou but offered comfort with daily cleaning. The bonus of this little place is that you can use the kitchen where breakfast is served to help yourself to tea and coffee (excepting the coffee served at breakfast) and you get a shelf allocated in the fridge for any food purchases you may make. Incidentally, the breakfast we had (omelet with tomato) is really good. You get to choose what you would like (i.e. omelet, fried eggs, cereal and more) and time slot, the day before and this is served with the addition of toast, yoghurt, cheese and salami slices and a little cake. This helped see us through to lunch nicely. The staff are very pleasant which always make a difference to my stay at any hotel. It was really nice to receive spontaneous pleasantries and even a weather report including advice on layering up on clothing for one of the days we were there. Overall, a very pleasant and stress free visit.
Friendly spot, with helpful staff and uniquely decorated rooms
twainmarkon 14/06/2016 16:41The hotel is not fancy, but had all the basic facilities for our needs, and a very friendly staff that we appreciated. Rooms have unique decorative styles that you can see on the website -- we stayed in the Mexican room. For breakfast, there are six-eight choices, and you specify the day before what you'll want and when you'd like it served. The WiFi was reasonable, and we particularly liked the bottled water dispensers placed near the guest rooms and the breakfast room. The staff was great to work with, swiftly responding to our questions via e-mail before we arrived, and providing (for a fee which they mentioned in advance) the supporting documentation necessary for me to obtain a visa. The location is just a short way off Nevsky Prospekt, and convenient for the Mayakovskaya (sp?) Metro station, many bus lines, and the restaurants and shops on Nevsky.
Nice hotel, good location and friendly staff
Ann-Osloon 13/09/2015 11:30We was 4 friends/family from Norway/Australia who spent 6 nights at Art House in August. I was at the same hotel in September last year and just fall in love with the place.
Rooms are nice and cozy, staff very friendly and all of them speaks English. It`s a fridge outside rooms for us to use.
Breakfast is good and the kitchen is more like a home with an amazing woman who created this nice homely atmosphere.
It`s only five minutes walking from main train station who is perfect as we arrived with fast train from Moscow.
Right outside you can choose between lots of cafes. The area is safe and friendly and location is very good with only few minutes walk from main street; Nevsky Prospect and lots of buses. It`s a 15 minutes stroll down to Hermitage, but on the way down Nevsky it`s lots of stuff to look at, cafes and shops.
I will definitely choose the same place when going back to Petersburg in March : )
