What People are saying

Elegant Accommodation in a good location

Victoria Won 19/07/2016 13:38

Easy to find, we arrived early, but only had to wait 30 min for someone to arrive to let us in.

The building smelt moldy on entrance, however when we went into the B&B the smell disappeared and our room was lovely with a balcony, elegant and comfortable furniture and the bath room across the corridor was modern and the whole place spotlessly clean.

We had breakfast the following morning which was a little disappointing however the accommodation itself was beautiful

Indifferent and overpriced

Apparently I was taken into an annex and not the main B&B, since the pictures I see in Tripadvisor don't correspond to the place I stayed at. The B&B I was taken to was very clean and well located, close to the Arena and the main sights of beautiful Verona. The owners were nice and helpful, and yet... The room didn't have any taste of personality (basically a huge room with an Ikea bed in the middle, and that was it). The room's closet was full with somebody's clothes and cleaning products. Breakfast was a generic hell: tiny cup of coffee and prepackaged toast. I would have gladly stayed in such a basic, sterile accommodation for 35-45 euro/night, but I was charged 80 euro (sharing bathroom with other guests). I travel a lot and know perfectly well what I can get in Italy for 80 euro. As far as I am concerned, the place is wildly overpriced and I couldn't help but to leave feeling ripped-off.

Lovely place

The place is very clean and organised. They have flowers and plants everywhere, which shows they take cake of everything. The breakfast is fair and better than many hotels that I have been. The location is great. 20min walk and you get to the train station (5 minutes by car) and you just cross the street and you get to the Arena and the main sights of Verona. I recommend it. :-)

Good Accommodation

This was the last of four places we stayed in recently and to be honest we were apprehensive.

However no need, great location and the accomodation is clean and we had en suite with our room. Breakfast wasnt up to much but that wasnt a huge problem for us. THe B&B is literally around the corner from the ARean, not far from the big castle and shops. Plenty of choices for great food nearby.

BEWARE!!

Brendan Fon 08/07/2014 18:14

Unfortunately, this review should have been quite positive. However, when you have a confirmed reservation and have also gone to the trouble of sending an email to confirm your time of arrival. the least you should expect is that your room will be ready and waiting for you after a long day of travelling. Wrong! Not at the Artemesia B&B!
Firstly, this is definitely not a typical hotel. It is a large apartment on the 1st floor of a lovely old building. When you arrive, there are a number of small brass plaques beside the door. One of them said "Aretemisia B&B, Check-In and a telephone number". So, make sure you have a phone handy. I called to say I had arrived (at my pre-confirmed time) and the lady who answered said she would be there in 5 minutes. While I waited a couple also arrived to the doorway. She arrived within a few minutes. She brought us upstairs and asked me to wait in the hall while she attended to the couple. She came back and I introduced myself. At first she feigned a sense of surprise. I told her I had a confirmed reservation and showed her the details on my smartphone. At this stage she seemed to accept that yes, I was right. She apologised that they were full and said her brother had a B&B near the train station and I could stay there. I refused point blank. I told her I wanted a room in the centre of town as I had reserved. At no time did I sense she was genuinely sorry about the situation. I explained that there were friends waiting for me at the Arena and that I needed a solution immediately. She got on the phone and after a few minutes speaking with someone, she said, okay, I have a room for you next door for tonight and tomorrow you come back here. I consented to this plan and she brought be to the building next door, which was clearly a similar style B&B apartment. The following morning I returned and met a friendly young lady who was servicing the rooms and she told me that my room was ready. When I got up early the following morning to leave, there was nobody around. I had a train to catch and left my keys (you have 4 keys - main entrance, apartment, the room and bathroom). I received an email later in the evening enquiring about a credit card for payment. I telephoned and explained that there was nobody on the premises to check me out.
Overall the positives are:
1. Central Location
2. Spotlessly Clean
3. Good air conditioning
And the negatives:
1. They did not honour my reservation - so beware! You might think you have a room booked, but perhaps they'll book you out too!!
2. This is nothing like a hotel. It is a large apartment where you share the bathroom facilities with other guests
I would love to give this B&B a higher score, but the fiasco surrounding my booking took the good out of it.
3. Noise of people walking from apartment upstairs.
