Escaped Enthusiasm
Shannancraigon 13/08/2016 20:52Visiting this hotel twice in two months, faults were minimal.
Being the only English guest, it was sometimes difficult for some staff members who assumed any guest was either Turkish or German, this wasn't major for me as I'm used to traveling around places with lack of English. I liked the concept of being able to venture in to Leodykia, it was a nice change to be able to see some other scenery and people.
Arycanda was a great experience, with amazing food and grounds. The rooms were spacious and clean, with large balconies, Although, I felt the animation team were lacking where in other hotels I've been to they aren't. I felt they turned up for the morning pool dance and then disappeared off. In previous hotels I've been to, they animators are always interacting with guests, getting involved with everything all day. During activities they were as investing in making it a game, rather just 'this is my job and i have to do it'
I don't know if my opinion is formed because of being in other hotels around Turkey, I appreciate that everyone works very hard with early mornings and late nights, especially during dance shows during the nights show, but even so I've seen more enthusiasm elsewhere. For example there was a day where they put on a foam party, brilliant just what seemed like a great boost to get guests in the mood to jump about and have fun, unfortunately it lasted all of 30 minuted, everything was packed away music was closed and that was it.
For me, Arycanda is a fantastic place for a flying visit, I think I'm used to a more fast paced hotel.
No 5-star hotel, but not so bad
Elisabeth Fon 25/07/2016 20:55Hotel in general ok, but housekeeping could have worked better. Biggest problem was the communication with the members of staff, both waiters and animateurs. No English, no German. Evening shows only dance shows because animateurs where dancers. Not everybody`s taste.
An adequate 4 star hotel
fellowtron 22/08/2014 13:18As a Turkish person i can say that our stay wasnt very nice. When you compare this hotel with others around same prices, you'll find out it's not good enough. First problem is the A/C. It barely colds room to 30 celcius degrees. Also minibar is another failure, a liter of water, two cans of soda and thats it. Even minibar isnt cooling anything. Drinks were truely weird, all of the alcoholic beverages are from the brands that i have never heard of. Nothing tastes good. Even beer is not good enough i assume it's not the brand that they tell you. Also A/C is not working around 3AM-8AM. When we asked them they said they are letting it rest. Yeah right A/C might be in a depression. Soft drinks are not different. Never ever heard before any of those brands. Food choices are not enough simply there are 6-7 main meals only. Also it becomes really hard to find a place to sit in restaurant. Actually i truely wished i never left my home with working A/C, drinks with normal brands, food that tastes normal. By the way i can warn tourists from here, all the markets in the otel are more expensive than outside. If you want to get smokes, newspapers etc. simply go outside and you'll find them at half price. Unfortunately i personally don't recommend this hotel. I know agencies are bringing you here but, unless it's really really cheap don't come here. Like i said, adequate, are there services and stuff? Yeah. But don't expect nothing to be usual. Also there is no parking lot, simply staff puts your car front of the hotel. It wasn't like a holiday it was more likely a had to do trip to Antalya...
I had other more successful holidays in Antalya
adi035on 24/08/2013 20:57A modest hotel with spacious rooms, beautifully decorated.
Overall, a very well used area (pool, park, beach, recreational facilities).
Many restaurants with good food, diverse, beautifully presented.
Many bars, drinks not quality.
A team of 15 animators, with a good program (both day and evening).
Tourists of many nationalities: German, Austrian, French, Italians, Polish, Serbians, Hungarians, Czechs, Romanians and Russians. So, staff spoke other languages, not only Russian.
But ... this is not enough for 5-star ultra all inclusive.
The staff made efforts to be friendly. But, perhaps they are too few and tired.
We are fond of the sea view rooms. Because all rooms are sold as standard, we gave tips on arrival at reception. The result: room without sea view and ... for PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES . Was it too little 20 euro???!!! Motivation: The hotel is full because many Turks came for Bayran. Only when I threatened to sleep in the lobby, we were given another room (no sea view). For us it was enough to have a ruined holiday.
Another weakness: the spa. Staff unfriendly (one exception: Jack / Mehmet). A creepy smell, especially in the Turkish bath, so infrequently. An unfriendly environment.
Internet connection only in lobby and pool bar. But poor.
In conclusion: I had many holidays in Antalya, most very successful. But this was far below expectations.
For sure not 5 stars
Rafal Son 21/08/2013 13:33We spent two weeks in hotel-07-21.08.2013. Localisation -good. Air conditioning invalid in restaurant, hotels corridors, occasionaly also in room. Bed smell in the bathroom, brown liquid leaking from beneath of bathtub each time after shower. Insufficient staff in main restaurant. There was unpleasent surprise In time of checking out-at the reception desk we were charged for the service we have never made use of (Nargila that we have never use). As a proof staff showed me a kind of receip with room number but with no any my signature. I think it's very dangerous praktice collecting bills with no signatures. Fore sure hotel doesent deserve 5 stars. I would never recomend it to my friends.
