Nothing to write about here - booking a few weeks ago cancelled on the day to accomodate somebody else. Booked us with another B & B which was fine as it happens but much further from town.
Definitely off the list for the future
Had a nice family evening meal in wildes at ashford lodge spoilt only by my aunt and uncle getting a call earlier in the day to say that their booking from 2weeks prior was cancelled.... !?!!! How is this place still in business with such low business standards !!!!
Arrived at the B&B at 6.45pm to find the house in complete darkness.Room was booked around 4.30pm.I phoned the number and it was answered by a woman with quite loud music in the background.I explained that I was booked in and was outside the house.She said she was out shopping and would be 'back about 8' but her husband might be back sooner.After sitting outside the house for an hour a man arrives at 7.45pm, gets the mail from the box and goes in and closes the door.Thought he might have came over and apologised for leaving me waiting but no! I give him around 10 minutes then went to the door to find it locked.I left this joke of a B&B at 8.15pm, half an hour after the man got back and an hour and a half of waiting outside.With a 7.5t truck to reverse out of the property in the dark I didn't exactly just drive off, thought he might have came out and asked where I was going while I was manoeuvring the truck but no! In the end I had to book another B&B in Ballinrobe where I stayed the night.Ashford Haven is clearly run by people that care only about themselves and when it suits them for people to stay.The woman I spoke to on the phone sounded like she was in a bar and was clearly trying to make me leave rather than come home.After reading other reviews I agree that she is very unprofessional and childish. (Ssooooooooooo) what kind of answer is that to a review left by another unhappy customer? Pathetic!!
We booked this B&B as we are due to attend a wedding there over Christmas. We booked through booking.com at a price of €60 for one night and received a confirmation email. We received a call from the B&B manager, Susan today to advise that as the manager of the B&B she had the right to do whatever she wanted with the room and proceeded to tell me that the room could be booked directly with them for €90. We contacted booking.com to advise them of the situation. They then contacted the B&B owner and were advised by her that she had family staying and could not accommodate our booking which obviously wasn't true given her phone call to me a few minutes earlier. Very unprofessional and bad attitude.
YOU'LL BE SORRY!!! STAY AWAY! Find somewhere accommodating and amenable -- the hostess is not the most-ness at all. Nasty, irritating and misanthropic. Please do yourself a favor and stay anywhere but here.
