Clean, tidy and welcoming

Family break for one night, interconnecting rooms. Rooms were clean (although on leaving I did notice some cobwebs on one of the pictures in the room). Bathroom was very clean, really bright and well kitted out. Didn't have time to use the facilities, unfortunately - but breakfast was delicious! Lovely welcome on arrival too. Would go back if in the area.

Amazing staff and hotel

Amazing hotel, clean tidy and great gym facilities, breakfast and dinner was to a very high standard and was pleased every evening, staff were fantastic in the restaurant and bar especially
Kyle Mayo will be back in October and can't wait to be back, would recommend to everyone

Spacious and with helpful staff

We were at the hotel for a wedding reception - and stayed overnight. Our room was on the ground floor, specially adapted as one of us is not too mobile. We found the room spacious, with room for wheelchair and walking frame and clean, with everything we could want provided. Breakfast was varied and very good and all the staff very friendly and helpful. Some minor points, which would only be obvious for someone in our situation, that could have made our stay easier - nothing to lower our estimation of the hotel and I hope taken as constructive criticism. The room was on the ground floor but quite a long walk from reception, so we had to use a wheelchair, rather than the frame we would normally use in a hotel. To get to the room there are (necessary) heavy fire doors - but with no push button control - so we had quite a struggle (to put it mildly) trying to open the double doors towards us whilst pushing the wheelchair in. The front entrance does have push button, but there is a step to navigate. There is a dropped kerb, but it is a few yards off to the side, not in front of the door and there is a small grass patch to cross. Again, a very minor point and, unless in our position, no-one would give it a second thought.All areas in the hotel WERE amply wide for the wheelchair. All in all we had a lovely visit and would well recommend. Oh and one last point. No mobile phone coverage - although I was told that Vodafone worked!

The hotel bar is a problem!

The hotel and staff were pleasant enough, but unfortunately the bar really lets this hotel down. To be charged £13.00 plus for a wine and a beer because the station nearby is supposedly international even though only one train a day stops there. As if that isn't bad enough to be chucked out at 11.30 into reception with your drink, even though you are staying there is disgraceful.

Brilliant Comedy Night package

My husband, myself and our friends booked a Comedy Night Package (last night) and would thoroughly recommend this as it is brilliant value for money. Our rooms were cosy and had everything you could want for one or even a few nights stay. The Comedy Night event was very well run and I must admit I wasn't expecting too much in the way of food but we had a very nice hot meal followed by a very nice cold dessert. We were entertained by three comedy acts after which we were able to dance the rest of the night away until 1am at the disco which played some extremely good music. This morning we went down to breakfast in the restaurant which offered an excellent choice of hot and cold food. The service too was extremely efficient. We will all definitely be coming again in the not too distant future.
