Deb Con 02/07/2017 20:33We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Ashgrove House. We had a superb weekend which includes the river festival! We found the accommodation to be very comfortable and close to all of the local amenities. The owner s of the property were really lovely and very friendly, bed was comfy and although the road is quit noisy it didn't bother us. Breakfast was also great with lots of choice and plenty of it.
Loved it
stephen hon 13/06/2017 20:08I would highly recommend this B&B if you are in this area , it is only a short walk to the centre of town, the owners are lovely and the establishment is spotless. There is private parking which the host will give you instructions to but fear not it is a 45 second walk to the accommodation, I look forward to another stay.
Perfect location and perfect accommodation
apple8joneson 06/06/2017 12:05I booked Ashgrove house by researching other people's reviews, always find that's the best way as they tend to be honest, warts and all.
Judging by the ratings I would not be disappointed and I most certainly wasn't. I booked a double room for my parents and a single for myself, room 1 and 6 respectively when we had our keys.
I found the house easily and as I rang an hour to our arrival in advance I spoke to Ian who directed us to the car park between two other b&bs which was fine.
When we got there we were welcomed by Diane who was lovely and helped with our luggage which was an unexpected surprise and took us to our rooms.
My parents had the double with an ensuite and mine was with a shared bathroom with the other room on my floor.
Both rooms were immaculate and remained that way throughout our stay with coffee and tea replenishments and bed refreshed daily.
I was again pleasantly surprised as my single room had a sink with toiletries, well furnished with a comfortable chair, TV and DVD unit, fold up table and chair, plenty of wardrobe space with hangers; iron and board, an electric fan and dressing gown inside.
Lots of drawers for clothes and items with a thoughtful hairdryer in the bedside cupboard which was great as I had forgot mine.
The shared bathroom had an ample sized shower and again was immaculate.
Cooked breakfast choices were to be ticked on a sheet each night and left on the desk but other options were accommodated, breakfast served from 8 to 9 am.
We came down into the breakfast room and Diane was there to greet us, great array of fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, pastries and breakfast bars as well as fruit juice.
The cooked breakfast was spot on and delicious, with poached egg to a turn.
It was our first trip to Stratford and location wise genuinely perfect as the walk to the Royal Shakespeare theatre is 10 minute almost straight line walk, Diane and Ian helped with our directions and gave great advice with information of the local area.
I know people waffle on but I've travelled fairly extensively, I've never been a fan of hotels finding them too corporate and uninteresting, having said that I have stayed in some top star ones in London, America and Hong Kong.
You would not find a couple who take more pride in their business, Ashgrove House is a delightful example of hospitality done beautifully well and Ian and Diane could not have done more to make our stay in Stratford more enjoyable.
I simply can not recommend highly enough
Well situated, lovely b&b
Clery2012on 02/06/2017 22:28We stayed here for May bank holiday weekend. Parking was great and meant could leave the car to explore Stratford during the day. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and hosts were lovely. Only issue we had is due to the hot weather our room was very stuffy but I'm sure if we'd have asked for a fan they would have obliged and the windows were left open for our arrival to help. Ideally situated with a 5 minute walk to centre and RSC which we visited. Would stay again.
