A great stay at really pleasant hotel.
Steve Pon 10/08/2017 05:03From the moment we pulled up at this place, we knew it had been a good choice to spend four nights to round off our US road trip. The receptionist was so friendly and welcoming and the whole atmosphere around the hotel adding to a great ambience.
Our room was a nice comfortable place with all you could possibly want, including a large fridge, microwave, TV and good aircon. The wifi was more than adequate for what we needed.
The breakfast room also doubled as an evening drinks venue for happy hour. it was again staffed by some lovely people and both the breakfast and the happy hour were very well stocked. We spent our early evening enjoying the hospitality of the hotel, which was a very pleasant surprise to us both.
We were within walking distance of Quarter Horse Museum and a Cracker Barrel was at the end of the drive.
Our only complaint (and nothing to do with the hotel) was the road work going on and around the freeway. With us having to contend with driving on the right and a GPS that knew nothing of the roadworks, it made it a trial coming and going.
The staff really made this place and we spent four very happy nights there at a price well below $100US. Thank you one and all.
If you are lucky enough to get a room on the western side, there was a lovely sunset over Downtown Amarillo, that we watched every evening from our room.
"You CAN'T check in until 3 pm."
JBender11on 09/08/2017 05:32I was on a 15 day motorcycle trip from California through the mid-west. On 8/1/2017, due to inclement weather in Oklahoma City, OK, we adjusted our route and arrived to the Ashmore Inn at about 1:15 pm. We were looking forward to showering and changing into dry clothes. The male employee (name tag began with a "Ch"), assisting at the front desk stated, "You can't check in until 3 pm." With soggy socks, we went to a local restaurant and had lunch. When I returned at 3 pm, the male staff member was going off shift and the staff member from the new shift assisted me (Room 328).
The hotel was clean and comfortable and the rest of the staff were friendly. I was pleasantly surprised that the hotel had a complimentary evening cocktail reception Monday-Friday.
The male employee should realize that he is in the hospitality business. If there were no rooms available, I could understand the wait. This was the only hotel, out of the 12 hotels we stayed in during our trip, that had an employee with this attitude.
A very nice, comfortable hotel in Amarillo.
hotgrandmacwton 30/07/2017 01:11Ashmore Inn is a comfortable hotel, well located on Hwy 40. Although our room was a bit small it was nicely furnished and we had everything we needed. Prices in summer are typically very high along the highway in summer. The breakfast was a typical motel breakfast with many good choices. Staff was friendly and pleasant.
Pleasant stay
travelwithwillon 27/07/2017 05:06The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. When we first got into our room there was a very strong smell of cigarettes which honestly made the 4 of us feel sick. We went back to reception, told them the issue and they quickly gave us another room which was an upgrade to what we had booked. We were very happy with the rooms, they were very big and spacious.
Family stay on our Route 66 trip
Linda Con 26/07/2017 02:31Arrived at the hotel and being perfectly honest the room we were given had a strong smell of cigarettes. As we are non smokers we returned to reception and they immediately gave us an upgraded room. which was smoke free. Enjoyed our stay, friendly and helpful staff. Good continental breakfast included which included a waffle machine and scrambled eggs.
