Nice location!

Good location so you can saw the main sightseeing places in Perm, friendly stuff, tasty breakfast at the cafe where you can choose from variety of food. There are a lot of restaurants near the hotel. Not so fast wifi. The main problem is bad noise insulation of the room.

Great hotel with super helpful English speaking staff.

Good hotel and facilities but brilliant staff who answered my emails beforehand about hiring a car to visit some out of town sights. They sorted it all out for a good price and printed out maps and directions in English and Russian so that the driver and us could communicate. They even made us a free packed lunch as we were going to miss breakfast. What a wonderful experience... Very grateful and thank you!

comfortable nice hotel

I stayed in this hotel for more than 2 weeks and even after that time I have no complaints.
The Hotel is located in the center of Perm.
The staff is always friendly and helpful. All are speaking English very well and one of them speaks also German. The rooms are always clean and the beds are very comfortable also for tall people (more than 190cm).
Only one small disadvantage compare to other hotels. The breakfast starts at 8, for business people sometimes a bit late. But they try their best to help every guest for a nice start in the day.
You can order a tasty breakfast package which you can have earlier. You can also order the breakfast (crepe, fruit salad, coffee,...) in the evening in advance and you will find everything prepared on the table at 8 o'clock.

On my next trip to Perm I will choose hotel Astor again.

The overall experience is very good. The staff is very welcoming and watch's after the guests needs. They can speak English and a little German. The breakfast is served in a French restaurant, so expect French typical breakfast options.
At my next trip to Perm, I will book a room there again.

The staff at the Astor Hotel were extremely helpful and friendly before, during, and after my stay. It was certainly a useful bonus that they have an ICQ account attended to 24 hours a day. However be advised they can't arrange your tourist voucher or offer visa support, you'll need to sort that out through your local Russian Embassy instead.

The reception staff all speak good english, the restaurant staff less so but they are pleasant and attentive nonetheless and will seek english-speaking staff if you're not getting anywhere. The restaurant food is excellent although the choice from the wine list was a little restricted - not everything on the list was available.

The hotel itself is relatively new (2007) and very comfortable, and being only a small hotel it was very quiet even when in full occupancy. Each room has a different decor so at least it doesn't feel like a 'Travelodge abroad'. Rooms are pleasant and clean, bed comfortable, TV, wifi and phone all worked well. Location is just off KomPros and was very convenient for getting around the city, bus station is less than 3 mins walk away.

I chose this hotel because it appeared to be a little more 'individual' and 'personal' than others nearby in the city, and I wasn't disappointed.
