Denisa Kon 03/04/2017 20:50I've stayed one night in this hotel. Room was clean, the stuff was helpful and breakfast was good, however equipment was a bit old. The hotel was just few tram stops from the Leipzig city center. It required a small walk to find a decent place for dinner.

Emily Kon 21/11/2016 18:41The staff were very accomodating when I was very ill with food poisoning and needed to extend my stay. Good location, very close to a tram station that takes you straight into town. Light sleepers may need ear plugs.
Good value in a quiet location
__Joh__Yeon 07/10/2016 19:52If you arrive in Leipzig by bus from Berlin your bus stop probably is in Goethestrasse by the park. Look down the street and you will see the central station and coming down the street you will see the main connection point for trams Hauptbahnhof, in front of the station. Make sure you know the end station(s) of the tram line(s) you want to use.
Take the tram 7 in direction Bölitz-Ehrenberg from track 3 to Wielandstrasse for Centro Hotel Astoria. During the end of the 14 minute ride you pass the hotel on the left hand side so you need to walk back 130 meters.
To get around Leipzig from the hotel to museums and other points of interest will be easy if you buy a 24-hour ticket for all of Leipzig, valid on trams, buses and S-bahn, from a ticket machine. It costs 7,20 EUR for one person and 11,00 EUR for two persons travelling together. You can buy a ticket for up to five persons. Do not forget to stamp your ticket when entering the first vehicle. A single ticket valid for 1 hour costs 2,60 EUR.
The young lady that checked me in at Centro Hotel Astoria was very friendly and gave all the information I needed. I got a quiet room towards the back just as I had asked for knowing that the tram passes in front of the hotel, although I think that the windows seem to keep most of the noise from the street on the outside.
My single room was nicely furnished and decorated including reading light at the bed and writing table, sockets for my laptop, free well working Wi-Fi, a place for my suitcase, a wardrobe, a small fridge and a ceiling fan. I was disappointed that there was no safe in my room, although it said so on the booking site.
To my surprise I had a window in the bathroom, where I also found a makeup/shave mirror.
Most tables in the spacy breakfast room were by the window. The breakfast was an adequate cold buffet nicely laid out. There is also a bar in the hotel, which I did not visit.
The hotel is located in a quiet area with a good restaurant across the street and quite a few along the tram line. If I come back to Leipzig I would book Hotel Astoria again. I recommend the hotel for the good and friendly service and the good value for money.
A hotel to be avoided, ALWAYS

Charming Leipzig value
Carin Son 18/05/2016 06:54I recently stayed at this hotel on my first visit to Leipzig. It was good value for money and included breakfast. It is a bit away from the centre of town but easily reached by tram line 7. The Jedermann restaurant nearby gives an authentic local experience. Get off along the way to town and go for a walk in the wonderful park next to a river. If you are noise sensitive ask for a room on the back as the tram comes past the front - but it does not run all night and certainly did not bother my friend who stayed on that side. Lastly: very friendly and helpful staff!
