What People are saying

Outstanding experience for our motorcycle club

John Pon 31/07/2017 18:26

I was at the Atlanta Evergreen Marriott facility at the end of June, 2017 with the Iron Warriors Motorcycle Club for our national conference. We are a public safety club, composed of active and retired law enforcement and fire fighting professionals.
I think, of the several hundred of us in attendance, we were all thoroughly impressed with the high level of service and the stellar condition of the venue. More than once I heard the term "cruise ship-type service" mentioned. I couldn't recommend the resort enough.

6 Day Conference Stay

The hotel decor and scenery is nice. 1st night there, went to onsite bar, took an hour to receive food. Waiter admitted he forgot to enter my order, however the entire time he would periodically stop by our table to let us know our food would be ready in 15-20 minutes. It was more like 15 minutes times four. Anyway, without having to complain the manager gave us our food free. He made the waiter take responsibility for his "lack of" following through and honestly checking on our order.

Another issue, I requested foam pillows a few days prior to checking in, yet there were feather pillows on my bed. I itched all night. Secondly the room was really dusty. I'm not a neat freak but every time I get in my bed or pull my covers back, dust shouldn't fly everywhere causing me to sneeze. Lastly, I had to kill 2 spiders while lying in my bed,. seriously!!! I'm so disappointed right now, but have to remain here because of a mandatory event. I'm not from Atlanta so unfamiliar with other hotels near by.

Nice place not sure worth the price

First time at this hotel and for a 4 star hotel left me confused. They only had bed choices of king and two doubles, which most the places I stay offer two queens. The staff was great, however from check in to shopping at their store I was never asked for ID or the credit card used to book the room. I could have said any room number when purchasing and I do believe I would not be questioned. A tip you are planning on spending a couple or more days at the park get a plus membership which will pay for itself with 3 visits. I used it to get a better rate at the hotel saving more then 20 dollars a night and discounts at the restaurants. Overall a great experience , I will just have to request ID checks next time myself instead of assuming the hotel would.

Great family getaway close to the park!

I have stayed here on multiple occasions, most recently Thanksgiving. The great thing about this resort is the amenities. Even in November, the girls enjoyed the heated pool and oversized chess set. Couples and small groups surround numerous outdoor firepits and ample seating, rockers, lounges, etc. on the back pool deck area. An outside walk up bar makes things convenient while the kids take a dip.

I highly recommend fall if traveling here!! The leaves and foliage surrounding the property are great, and I definitely recommend a lake view room. To me, it's not much more money but worth it. I felt like we had ample privacy and the small balcony was just right. The fireplace is always aglow and is well decorated in lush holiday adornments throughout.

There is a room that is a conference room turned large screen TV sports watching room where the hubby can relax and watch ESPN or the game. There is typically always weddings going on, and the hallways connect to that space so you can see and hear the receptions from the lobby but it's not that big of a deal.

Cons are the food options. There is a nice coffee shop on the main lobby level. You can eat in the sports bar downstairs, with several TVs, billiards and a good chill out spot for couples or adults, but the service is slow.

The buffet...yikes. Honestly, we really did not enjoy the dinner buffet AT ALL. It was terrible food for Thanksgiving, cold and just overall not worth the money. I am rating that separately than the hotel though, because they should be considered differently but they need to improve the food quality to be an upscale resort.

There is golf nearby, other restaurants in town, a stone's throw from Stone Mountain park and great geocaching nearby! The valet and hotel staff are great and we would stay there again.

** Not for business travelers I don't think.

Just OK - Great location for Stone Mountain; not worth the $$$ Business travelers avoid!

Marriott Platinum with 120 nights so far this year.

Check in (1/5) - Wait was crazy long, rude, and didn't recognize the Marriott loyalty. This was strange for a property of this status.

Room (3/5) - Just ok, nothing special and a little worn down.

Property - I expected more for the price. This was not worth the price paid, besides the proximity to Stone Mountain, this property is solely focused on the conference center. Business travelers avoid!
