What People are saying

Horrific Hotel!

David von 09/08/2017 11:06

This is by far the most atrocious hotel I've ever been to.. (and I traveled extensively around Southeast Asia and seen some pretty shocking hotels) We made a booking for 2 nights, but checked out after only a few hours.
The smells of mould, pesticide, chemicals and dust all combined in the hallway made the walk to the room a traumatic event.. the rooms were dirty, with no ventilation and smelt of mould, dust and dirty carpets, which after a few hours both my son and I experienced difficulty breathing. My son also was covered in bites after laying on the bed. The door to the room didn't close properly without slamming it and the fridge in the room didn't work, no AC or fans in the rooms, the bedcovers were dusty and smelly as were the curtains.
When explaining the issue with staff they just replied "it's a pity but you can't cancel your booking" and offered to change the pillows... we walked out without a refund (they charged the credit card used to secure the room 2 days prior to check in) but valued our health and safety over the money we paid for the room. Health department should shut it down, and booking sites should stop selling rooms at this hotel.

Not the best Hotel in the area

Marco Lon 04/07/2017 11:32

Generally speaking, our experience has been below the expectations.
We were not looking for a luxury hotel but we find out that the Atrium hotel definitely needs a refurbishment/ renovation works.
Furniture in the room was very old fashioned, maybe belongings to the 50's . Curtains were dirty and quality around was really low.
Breakfast choice was really poor and quality wasn't great!
In addition, it isn't quiet close to the city center either but at least the closest underground station was 2 min walking from the Hotel.

Overall, good hotel !

A hotel located in a quiet area, with easy acces at U9 – Bahn Guntzelstrasse (3 minutes walking) and small shopping posibilies (ALDI and E-STADIE supermarkets).
You can also dinner in nearby restaurant (I recommend San Marino – italian restaurant).
Clean hotel, with hearty breakfast (salami, cheese, jam, butter, yogurt, milk, coffe, tea etc.) and with facilities (refrigerator, cold water in the bathroom, hair dryer).
The negative things: no TV cable (from receptionist I understood that was a malfunction on the network, in the whole neighborhood) and poor internet.
In conclusion, I recommend this hotel for low and medium budget persons.

Not worth it. The rudest staff ever. Poor English. Everything bother them.

Ane Zon 07/04/2017 13:08

Staff in the reception are really rude and everything bothers them (at least one member of the staff, the other two seemed to be more or less fine) Poor breakfast: not croissants or warm food.
I asked the first day for a strong coffee they gave me weak coffee, so the next day I asked for very warm coffee they gave me the same coffee as the day before. Overall the staff speak really poor English. The cleaners are lovely, the only ones who smile (at least one of them) and looking after the guests.

Since I was going to stay for at least nine nights, I booked (and I believe I paid for that in my booking) for a double bed. Booking.com states that there are rooms with bath, so I also asked for a room with bath. I also stated that I would be working (business trip), so I was expecting to be allocated in a quite zone (i.e. in the parking side). The photos show a room with balcony, so I was expecting also that. I was given nothing, but a room with twin beds; tiny; noise every night, outside in the street and in my corridor. Pets noise, etc. One Saturday people coming at 1:30 am and shouting, at 7 am families yelling in their bedrooms, etc. etc.
When I did my booking I realised that I needed another night, so immediately I booked from eight to nine nights. The extra night cost me 61 euros when the average was 54 euros.
Booking.com also states that you have self-alarm, clock, etc. yes, but it does not work. What I appreciated was to have a small fridge in the room. You also have telephone, but what is the point if they do not pass the calls (my husband called at night, he did not remember the room number, but he provided my name and booking reference, they did not pass him through)
When I contacted the hotel prior to my arrival, I asked if they would have a lounge area with microwave to be used by the guests. This is since I was going to be nine nights. At my arrival the receptionist told me that I could use it. But, after the first night bumping into the rudest person ever I met working in customer service I decided not to ask to use it.
Overall it is not worth it. I would not recommend this hotel. As stated, I spent nine nights, to they show me the true colors.

There are shops in an amenity distance (Aldi, Edeka, a shop similar to boots or superdrugs in the UK) as well as restaurants and pubs. It is a safe area, potentially quite, but not in the hotel. I appreciate having a small fridge in the room. You have control of your own heating, but rooms are warm enough. Wifi seems to work fast and effective.

Good prize/quality

Giovanni Von 24/07/2016 09:58

A bit outdated but very nice and large room with a small balcony. Two good single beds. Located in a very quiet neighborhood. At night there was a private entrance to the hotel. The complimentary breakfast was simple but good.
