Excellent evening meal

Large room and very pet friendly, the owner that greeted us was very friendly and a really nice chap. Very comfy bed with extra pillows, good bathroom and a great shower in the morning and the food in the restaurant was very good, limited choice but very good value for money. There a rather strong "musty smell" about the place but it is built on a bank, in the woods and it was raining so that probably explains that. I bet in the winter with the log fire roaring it would be lovely. Would recommend and would stay again, only a short drive back to the main Somprt Rd.

Last Minute Saviour

My friend and I needed somewhere to stay and eat after a long days motorbiking and managed to get a room here. There room was basic but more than adequate for our needs and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent as was the wine and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Quiet, clean and good food. a little out of the way but very nice. It has a pool in the summer just across the road. No terrace or outside seating other than by the pool

Rooms at the back have no view other than scrub on the hillside

That aerial photo really took me in. I was really looking forward to a relaxing stay surrounded by mountain scenery, may be a drink in the garden before dinner?

The hotel looks shabby with a big empty reception with some abandoned strip lights - first impressions were bad. We were shown to our standard room (5) overlooking a steep bank with off cuts of shrubbery and vegetation - no view. The room was small with large bed and little room for much else. The pool is in some scrub land across the road and was off limits. I tried to upgrade to a newer room with a balcony but the hotel was full. It took around 30 minutes to run a bath as water pressure was poor; showering was no better as the shower screen was immobile given that it was nudged against the sink. The desk furniture was broken and there was constant noise with other guests clumping around the small run down hotel.

We left before breakfast. The Wifi worked and that was the only good thing I can say about this place. Avoid.

Overnight stop

The Hotel seemed to be in the middle of a revamp with a little man going round everywhere with a paintbrush so had to watch out as no wet paint signs. Room was very clean & comfortable and although we went out for the eveing to eat the restaurant was very busy still when we returned which I took as a good sign. The location is a little way of the beaten track but very quiet. There is a swimming pool located in a nice lawned area accross the lane from the hotel. The staff were very pleasant & helpful.
