Clean, helpful staff
Amanda Won 30/03/2017 02:38We stayed in room 405 which I think is classed as a junior suite. The room /bathroom had very interesting decor, grays & peach, it almost had a retro feel/flashback to the 80's. However, both were very clean. We heard no noise from other rooms during our stay.
In the bathroom, they only had soap & shower gel, no shampoo & conditioner so my hair felt awful. There is a small supermarket beneath the hotel which sells food, drink, toiletries etc.
Breakfast was included in our rate. It was a continental breakfast. There were eggs but you do have to either boil or cook your own (there is a hot plate with a frying pan or a pot of hot water) The eggs took forever to cook in the water as the pot didn't have a lid on.The toaster was broken but the staff did the toast In the back for me.
Ana on reception was super helpful & a really nice lady. The pillows in the room were to 'flat' so we asked reception & within minutes, 2 more were delivered to the room.
The hotel is quite close to the train station (not really walkable though) and a taxi cost us $14. We took the train from Geneva to Fribourg, it took around 1.5 hours, a first class ticket is $80 each way, a 2nd class ticket is $40 each way.
We went to Gruyere, it took about 30-40 mins in the car from this hotel
Good hotel, friendly staff
BernardVassallo_4on 04/11/2016 08:12Second time staying in this hotel when in Fribourg.
Good, convenient hotel.
Clean rooms, very helpful front office staff. Good food service.
Quite close to the train station (even though there is a hill)
Cozy and Okay
samira_hassanon 01/11/2016 16:40I loved the place but it was too small. I'll rate this as an okay hotel but I have to admit the reception was very helpful and supportive during our stay. We went there on a study tour with other government members, for a small little town, the hotel was the only option around.
Worst hotel stay in 25 years
joycewade49on 03/07/2016 01:12No air conditioning in a very humid room., despite the discomfort, we eventually were forced to close the window because we were continually wakened by the
omnipresent noise from the busy road. Beds were uncomfortable.,my bed had one regular pillow, my husband had 2 pillows about half the size of mine.,The duvets were too short. Mine did not cover me and I'm only 5'3". A terrible
place. I'd recommend it
Hot, stuffy, open window only if you can sleep with lots of road noise. Beds are uncomfortable. I had one regular size pillow. My husband had two pillows about half the size of mine. The duvets were too short, even for 5 foot 3 inch frame
Nice Hotel in Fribourg
Paul Mon 08/04/2016 12:22I stayed here for 3 nights during a business trip and was glad that I did. The hotel is around 10 minutes from the Railway Station and a short walk up a hill from the bus stop. The hotel inside is very clean and the rooms were of a large size. There is no a/c in the room (fans are available) so I opened the window onto the main road. At night the traffic is very light so I barely heard any noise at all.
The staff were terrific. My travel adaptor didn't have a Swiss plug on it so I borrowed one from the reception. In the morning when I needed to get the bus to my business location the lady there lent me some coins so that I could get a ticket (no ATM closeby).
Breakfast was good with plenty of things to mix it up during my stay. I didn't try the restaurant at night but I only heard good things from the people at the company I was working with that it is worth trying.
One last thing the WIFI was free, fast and very stable - something important when in business.
I am due to be going back to Fribourg again and will definitely stay here again.
