This Hotel had been recommended to us. They had been sending me emails with their great offers on a regular basis, last 2 years or so. At last we end up going to this lovely old fishing village. We did not stay in this hotel, but reserved one of their best tables overlooking the Veerse Lake for dinner. Unbelievably rude was the welcome we received in the Restaurant. (note we had dressed up for the occasion, so it was not that). They pretended not to find our reservation (made 4 hours earlier??!!),we had to ask several times for the menu or even to get an aperitif...all in all we felt like leaving even before we could order. Personally I will not set foot in this Restaurant and obviously Hotel again. Only reason they might have been upset is that we were staying in a Hotel 2 mins. walk away, pretty new and far superior, also with superb views over the lake. I happened to have their key in my hand. Still unbelievably rude welcome...so be warned !!

Great location - average hotel

I spent one night in this hotel during a cycling tour of Zealand, the staff was friendly and the room was ok. We got room number 4, which is located next to the terrace of the restaurant and under a corridor leading to the toilets and other rooms, and which has the acoustic isolation of the Middle Ages, so a bit loud for our standards. Bathroom would better be re-done. The positive points: friendly staff and very good breakfast served in the old tower with great views over the surroundings.

Not as good as before

Came back this year with a stopover for 2 nights on the way back to UK. Veere is as beautiful as before but did not feel the hotel is as good as last time. Again did not stay in the main hotel building but at Waterschip. The bed is not very comfortable with a thinner mattress on top of another mattress and some of the pillows in the room smell. Only a little pedal bin in the toilet but the pedal is not working properly, so need to use the hand to open the bin cover. Breakfast is rather limited e.g ham cold plate is not refilled i.e. less choice for breakfast unless you are early. Did not quite expect this for a Romantik Hotel at Euro 200 per night. Would consider another hotel at next visit to Veere.

Whoaw!!

If you want authentic, dont look any further. This is a great place to stay in Veere.
Our room had a beautiful view over the water, superbe decoration and the breakfast was not only delicious but also took place in the main tower, over looking the harbour. A unique experience!!

A wonderful waterfront fortress !

This beautiful hotel is simply the most elegant I ever seen in Zeeland. Located in the harbour, just in front of the water, it´s just a few steps from the market place. The hotel was an ancient fortress so you feel like you live in a castle ! The room was lovely, decorated with refinement. Bedding was very comfortable and bathroom was impeccable. The breakfast was delicious and served in a lovely room with seaview. Staff is pleasant and professionnal. I had dinner in this hotel and the meal was fabulous ! Throughout the building, there are boats and stylished decoration about marine so if you love the sea, you will adore this place.
