FRYING Pan Annupuri Restaurant
Jace_disgraceon 11/02/2016 12:28Who's the silly person that called it 'flying pan'???? Anyways, we went there for dinner as it was recommended by a worker from the lodge next door. You choose a main(chicken, pork, steak, seafood or king crab) and receive bread, soup (we had potato and leek), the main, dessert and a coffee. All for between 20-35usd. Not bad at all! And DELOCIOUS! I ordered the steak and it was cooked to perfection and covered in garlic and mustard and accompanied with a potato salad and rice. My friend ordered the pork. We both left feeling well fed. Would certainly return!
Very close to Annupri ski area, great food & people
makichanon 23/12/2014 22:04We have choose to stay here as this place located only few mins walk to skiing area. It was less than 5 mins walk to gondola station, about 7 mins to skiing school.
The owner and their family are very friendly and helpful. The owner used to be a French chef at the big hotel in Sapporo before he started this place so the food is absolutely spot on. His son trained to be chef in Germany too.
The room is enough space but I assumed they used allowed people to smoke so still could smell the smoke bit but just for your info, non smoking inside the house now.
The bed is ok. The mattress is bit thin and hard. Only thing I was bit disappointed is noise. Most of the day is good except one night big group of people came after mid night and made bit noisy. I could hear while I was sleeping...
Other than that, good place to stay for skiing in Niseko!
Good price for solo travellers! Good location! Delicious dinner!
cheungnickyon 23/01/2014 10:04First of all, the property name is wrong up here.. probably why i didn't manage to find any review earlier on. Should be Frying Pan instead of Flying Paan.
Location:
It's a stone throw away from the Annupuri gondola and is pretty easy to find. Once you get off the bus at Annupuri, just head left to the Gondola and turn right when you almost reach the gondola. The yellow house is the frying pan.
Food and service:
I stayed there for 3 nights and had a very good time. There is a reason why it's called Frying Paan. The food there is very delicious and reasonably priced. The steak dinner set is only 2500yen and it comes with soup, bread, sorbet and coffee. It's really good steak! The owner saw I didn't eat bread so she offered something else for me the next evening over bread. It was nice and thoughtful! I ran out of cash due to excessive shopping in Sapporo and the owner gave me a free lift to an ATM which was not so close by. (That's one downside of Niseko, you can hardly find any ATM!)
Facilities:
They charged by the number of persons and not by room occupied. So I got my own room only paying 5000-6000 yen a night. The room was nice and comfy. Despite quite some guests they accommodate, there are only two female toilets plus one toilet on the 2nd floor shared by both men and women. There are only two showers shared by all guests. Yet they manage to keep them very clean. You can really rely on Japanese for cleanliness.
All in all, I'm satisfied and happy. If I go there on my own again, I'll stay there for sure. Otherwise I will at least come back for the delicious dinner when I ski at Annupuri!!
