We really liked it
mairangion 07/05/2017 19:37We booked for a one night stop over en route from Geneva to Calais. It was easy to find and spacious parking. A good welcome and a nice room with plenty of space and an electronic bubble bath.
We had a memorable dinner with beautifully cooked and prepared food, well presented and the right quantities. The meal was very well paced and so became an event. The service was very professional if a little detached and ernest in some areas.
Breakfast was characterised by great generosity and copious choice and set us up well for the long drive ahead.
we plan to go again....
Overnight stopover
Dale Ton 06/03/2017 19:44Stayed here on our way to the Swiss Alps with out two labradors - we booked half board. Arrived around 7.15pm, walked the dogs..nice lakeside walk nearby.
Room was clean and comfortable. Good shower, sizeable bathroom and strong free wifi.
Dinner was from a set menu (44 euro if not on half board) with two choices of starters, mains and dessert. We both enjoyed red mullet for starters, we chose different mains - salt cod and duck - and we both had pear and prune crumble. All delicious. Wine was expensive. I made a mistake by ordering a large bottle of Pomerol based on the half bottle price - 77 euros was a little more than my usual budget! Breakfast was very nice too. Strong coffee, yoghurt, orange juice, ham, cheese, jams and pastries etc.
The total bill was close to 350 euro which given the remote location and quality of accommodation is expensive for just on overnight stay but the food was superb.
To be fair we didn't make use of the spa facilities as we wanted to continue on our journey.
A delightful experience
JSBourneon 24/09/2016 22:42The food at this hotel never fails to please. We have visited on a number of occasions and the menus change regularly and are always interesting. You could spend a great deal but there are also more reasonably priced menus. There is great attention to detail and flavours.
I think many of the rooms have been redecorated and now have air conditioning. They are quite small but reasonably priced. Our bed was a good size and the room was well lit which makes a change from many small hotels. There was also a good range of power points, so handy with so many things that need charging.
The new spa is a very welcome addition.
The hotel is close to the lake so it's lovely to be able to take a walk before or after dinner.
Table non-distinguée
barkoo686on 31/08/2016 14:35We chose this in the Logis de France guide, which has not disappointed us so far. The hotel has even a 'Table Distinguée', which means that the chefs are placed as 'Most Promising' in the 'Espoir' category. Well, well. But our great expectations were destroyed by the ridiculous, astronomic prices in this bleak restaurant (i.e. 28 € for a starter, 42 € for a main course). The hotel itself is very mediocre, small basic room, small bathroom, no charm at all and an almost arrogant service. And it certainly doesn't live up to its name, the "Lac" is 3 km. away. Shame on you, Logis de France! Or is it the hotel itself that sweeps up the prices outrageously the moment they hear about the 'Table Distinguée'-selection?
This has become a destination
nicholaswalkson 29/08/2016 14:46I found this last year through Booking.com, it was so good I decided to come again this year. It makes a superb first stop, on a two stop plan, on the way to Provence. Rooms are fine, food splendid. Will visit again when on the road south.
