Friendly, clean & great breakfast
Jocelyn Pon 04/06/2017 21:07We cycled into Briare just as the raincloud burst so we decided at the last minute to stay; luckily this hotel had room on a Sunday evening so we were able to get ourselves dried & comfortable.
The room was clean with ensuite and the beds comfortable. We ate our evening meal there as well as not much else was open in the town - they accommodated our need to have a vegetarian meal, which doesn't always happen in France. We certainly appreciated their willingness to prepare something different to what was offered on the menu.
The breakfast was the best we expereinced during our 4 weeks in France as they provided options for all tastes - continental, vegetarian, carnivores - accompanied by an excellent bread selection. Friendly staff, too. We recommend this family run hotel.
Ok but dated
pauline aon 03/09/2016 07:46The room was alright, though quite stuffy with no air conditioning. Lovely location alongside the Pont Canal. Staff very pleasant and restaurant ok. Breakfast average. Secure car parking with keypad code behind hotel.

Barbara Yon 06/06/2016 17:06Such a disappointment, had read good reviews of this place in the past, unfortunately they no longer apply. My husband and I had the set menu (16 Euros each). A plate of charcuterie each OK. Main course, husband had hake cooked well but rice well overcooked. I had chicken which was so dry it was almost impossible to swallow and for the 1st time ever in France the 'frites' were greasy and soggy. Husband had a plate of cheese (can't go wrong with that) I had what was supposed to be chocolate fondant I cannot imagine it was made on the premises as it came in a cardboard container - couldn't be bothered to tip it out and serve properly - I think it had been cremated in a microwave the outside was so hard the spoon wouldn't go through it. This is real shame, the setting by the canal is very pleasant and the staff were very nice and friendly. I'm sorry but the meal was just not worth the money.
not as good as expected
chris son 20/09/2015 22:19Room very basic decor is tired and in need of make over as paper starting to come off wall cold no heating bathroom has smells of sewage gases but appears to be clean. Resteraunt food is good service is reasonable. About 1.2 km from town which is pleasant
Cheap but clean... Ideal for a one night stop
rosuabon 20/08/2015 21:52Stayed here on way further down south... Not the best but not the worst.... Room was dated but very clean,,, could you ask for more for the price... Don't think so... The location was fantastic right next to the pont canal....
