What People are saying

Great location, very clean, quiet, secure, great value

CV Son 08/07/2017 12:59

This B&B has an excellent location easy accessibility for both bus and metro. Bus stop for #46, 49 &5 is right in front of the property. The owner/manager was gracious enough to accommodate us before lunch and let us into the family room (our best expectation was to be able to leave our stuff before hitting the city sites) though check in is supposed to not earlier than 2:30pm. After giving us an orientation on the use of the unique lift, he gave us a map and an overview of how best to cover the areas of interest either by bus or subway. Our day pass was good for either bus or metro so it was sweet comfort that we knew we would have no trouble finding our way back in good time wherever we might end in the day. We found his suggested itinerary during our stay just right for the pace we wanted and followed it through. Breakfast was free and could be enjoyed at the common area next to the foyer. There was a good choice of snacks, cereals, biscuits, a capsule coffee machine which whipped excellent Lavazza. The place is impeccably clean and well maintained. Beds were comfy with great duvets. Room was just right for our family of four (a large matrimonial plus 2 single beds) Free Wifi access with strong signal. Shower had strong water pressure, ample lighting and power hair dryer. Common kitchen had everything basic- hotpot, ref, microwave, utensils, etc. It took us sometime to figure out which side of the building was the reception when we arrived although they sent a letter with instructions to go up the 5th floor. We initially wandered to the wrong wing but Alessandro appeared just in time to rescue us from the quandary. The lift is quite unique and I was initially afraid there wasn't one at all. Office staff/reception available from 9:30am to 1:00 and then 3-8pm. This didn't pose a problem to us as Alessandro was always a call away via What's App. Don't forget to indicate use of the aircon as this is computed separately. Also be ready to pay for the city tax in cash. Judging from other reviews/complaints- other travelers fail to factor this in but it's a given for every hotel we stayed in Italy (including the cruise ship) and this is computed per room per day. I found this place of great value for its comfort, convenience and accessibility.

Not cheap and horrible, B&B unworthy.

We stayed there because my in-laws were there and we would surprise the family with a party in Rome.

We were greeted politely the service and personnel is helpful, but the stuff they work with is horrid. Feels like good personnel in a bad hotel.

Room: Our Room resembles nothing.. absolutely nothing that was on the pictures. I bet they took photos of the residence that are in the building. or they put us in a dumpster room. The Bed was like sleeping on hard nails (room 5 on the 5th floor).
The décor was not outdated... just.. not present. boring walls with just whatever they could grab out of a fleamarket or on sale.

The balcony they post on booking.com was actually our balcony. No flower but instead seats that tore my girlfriends pants because they were so old and far gone, sharp iron is sticking out of it. (basket shape seating had sharp edges and was broken, that's why a harp shard was sticking out) the iron from the balcony was heavily stained so you clearly see t's not been cleaned in years. Elements took a major toll.

Sanitation:
Mold ! on the plastic from the shower cabinet, the walls floor and sealing all had mold on them. So you know they do not check the rooms for that.
Also they have a water problem, cant maintain cold or warm water fluctuates really badly, so no service to the heating unit I guess.
Kids color marker handwritten papers what not to throw in the toilet.

Toilet worked, that's a plus :-)

Breakfast.
I am used to B&B's in Belgium, Germany and Austria. But this is nowhere close to even call themselves a B&B. Breakfast consisted of packaged prepackaged croissants bought from the lowest quality at the supermarket. the ones you might find in a snack lunchbox, but not at all decent or healthy for that matter. And a Cookyjar with some cakes and cookies (packaged from a local supermarket) and of course bone dry.
Some packaged toasts with cups of jam were the only thing even resembling breakfast. Real letdown.
To the owners... those are snacks, and do not qualify in any way as breakfast, in any country.
Any godfearing Italian would rather drop dead than call that breakfast. I expected a food embracing culture as the Italians, to do this right but alas.
Coffee was a coffeepad. That was in your room and had to go to a small kitchenette with a machine to make it. Next to the cookie jar ...I mean breakfast.

With the photo's I am seeing it really feels like a scam to me.

DO NOT STAY THERE... or Refuse room 5! at least.

On a positive note, there is a metro station and busstation nearby.
Though the taxifares charge you extra 25 euro's to go to the airport from and to there.
So my advise.
Get a better deal within the Aurelian wall, use the 50 bucks you save from the cab ride to invest in a decent establishment.

Lovely family run B&B - great value for money

We stayed for 3 nights and were pleasantly surprised on arrival.
Even before the arrival we were contacted via WhatsApp to confirm our arrival time to ensure we were made aware of the reception opening times.
We were greeted by the father and son owners who could not have been more helpful. It's situated within a local area so felt like we were in the heart of the real Rome, but very close to transport links (the bus is bang outside the doorstep and the Metro is a few minute walk).
On arrival the son explained everything and gave us a map with suggested places to visit and how to get there. The father then showed us to our room. We initially anticipated external bathrooms but were happy to discover the bathroom was internal and we had a large balcony. The room was also very spacious.
Continental breakfast foods were available all day from the kitchen and were regularly replenished.
The cleaner came every day and there was free access to the built in safe.
The owners even went above any beyond by assisting us with contacting our transfer company to arrange a meeting point and time for our departure after we had not heard from them. He even sent us a WhatsApp message confirming the details while we were out and about exploring!
Food nearby is locally owned and family run with great service (Josephs) and pretty cheap!
All in all a great place to stay for a city break to Rome. Great value for money and I would definitely recommend!

family-run, warm, quirky stay

We had a lovely stay in this family-run, simple, clean, straightforward bed and breakfast shortly outside of Rome. The family that owns and manages this "hotel" is kind, helpful, and professional, treating their guests very warmly. They were happy to help us with directions, recommendations, print our boarding passes, and answer any questions we had!

Considering this is on the outskirts of the city center- in its own little, not well-known area (Aurelia) we were so surprised by how simple it was to get to all the major attractions from the hotel. The metro is a short walk away, and a very useful, central bus line (U46) stops in front of the hotel. So being outside the heart of the city was no problem, but what really came unexpected was how amazingly highly-rated and delicious the restaurants in this area of town are (as they are untoursity). We typically try to avoid eating at the tourist traps, and were able to find some unforgettable, loved-by-the-locals eats (the gelato across the street for instance).
Only thing to really know is, it's just a tiny shared kitchen space, with good coffee but not much for breakfast, so shopping a bit in advanced to make some breakfast is not a bad idea. I might recommend the Aurelia Frutta across the street for some shockingly cheap, ripe, fresh, in-season fruits and vegetables.
Especially for the price, this is a wonderful stay, and we would be happy to come back!

Wonderful place

We arrived at Aurelia 429 after my aunt booked 2 rooms for our trip. What a surprise. The office staff was great in providing us with all the information needed to make our stay enjoyable. If you don't mind your private bathroom being across the hall, it is quite roomy and bright. Breakfast was brought every morning to the full kitchen which is available for guests to use as well. The room, bathroom, and kitchen were cleaned everyday. The building is a mixed use building meaning, businesses, private residences, and the b&b are all in the same space. The building is secure and set off from the street so it is quieter than most. You are just a couple if blocks from the Red metro line station. If you plan the "short" walk to the Vatican, remember, the walk back is mostly uphill. After a long day of walking around, ride the bus back. Overall we would recommend this property to our friends and certainly look forward to booking a stay again in the future.
