I showed up late in the evening for a one night stay. I had flown in that evening and was headed out the next morning. I was alone, thank goodness. If my wife had been with me, she would have refused the room and we would have had to forfeit the prepayment and find another hotel. If it was more then a one night stay, I would not have stayed. Food, blood (?), mold and other unidentifiable stains were on every wall. I have included some pictures of the walls with this review. The overhead fan was black with grime and dust. The bedside lamp was not plugged in and the outlet to plug it in was nowhere near it- I had to move one of the beds to plug it in. I slept with my clothes on, for fear of catching something. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Oh, I almost forgot, the wifi worked well and the room I had, in the back, was quiet.

Needed a room near the Airport and this hotel popped up. I had a room with private Bathroom, extremely small but adequate. Had everything, jug, toaster, microwave, heater, ceiling fan, but the TV (which was tiny) had a problem, finally fiddling with antenna connection and a reset saw one channel!!!
Not advertised on their website is the Airport Shuttle which they arranged for me for 0500, very pleasant vehicle and driver - a highlight of my stay.
The room was clean, but would have benefited from an extra blanket to supplement the thin doona - but was it OK for a budget night? Yes but don't expect too much.
Very handy to heaps of good restaurants and cafes and Newtown Railway Station.

I cancelled one week before the booking and Sunrise Lodge refused to refund my money despite this giving them plenty of time to advertise the room. It is really bad customer service. I don't like giving negative reviews but would like others to not have the same happen to them.

Beds were not a mattress but foam on a base. Pillows and pillow cases had mould. Bathroom shower was help up with gaffa tape. Fan was also held together with gaffa tape. Sink leaked. One of the beds was under the shelf that had a tv sitting on it.
Maybe just a room to rent for an hour or the night..
