Solo travelling on a budget
Sara Mon 20/12/2016 21:08Austrian yard is at about 30min walk from Kazanskij Cathedral. Very close to metro station Chernyshevskaja.
Rooms are tidy and good sized. Kitchen and bath room as well. Ironing devices and hair dryers available.
The staff is very friendly. I speak Russian and I'm not sure if they speak English too.
Regular place to stay in St Petersburg
petteri449on 29/07/2016 08:44This nice and cozy hotel became our regular place to stay in St Petersburg. Hotel has excellent location in the city center near underground station. Personnel is very nice and polite and rooms are clean. We decided to use this Hotel always while visiting St Petersburg and we can recommend Austrian yard to everybody who wants to have nice stay in the city center of St Petersburg.
Just an OK experience
Michael Non 19/08/2015 11:30First of: staff was friendly and helpful and tried to accommodate our wishes as best as the could.
Location is OK. Subway is near by but you will have to change once if you want to go to the main sights. Alternatively you could walk but it will take you probably 20 Minutes to get to the church on spilled blood for example.
Room was shockingly different to the ones depicted on booking.com. It was generously spaced but the room didn't have much natural light and you couldn't see through the windows. They were covered as the room looked out to a back yard not belonging to the hotel. Felt like a basement. Furniture looked worn. Bathroom seemed to be from another era altogether.
When we tried to change to another room they advertised it with "we have one available but it is worse".
Would not stay there again.

Just five minutes from Metro station and 30 minutes walking from main attractions.
It's necessary to pay attention to the main entrance because there isn't a clear indication of the hotel reception

Louise Oon 01/06/2015 08:30We had 5 nights, friendly helpful staff, room very clean and tidy. Great location and the Metro was easy. Asked for a room upgrade and paid a little extra so had a large modern double room ,great bathroom, all round lovely no frills good value quiet place. Would recommend this to everyone,
