Very Central

I have just come back from staying at this apartment. The apartment is very central just over from the main Railway Station. To get to Montpelier from the airport I boarded the Airport Bus which is outside the main entrance of the airport (you will see a bus stop) on the bus I brought a bus ticket and tram ticket combined. The Airport bus stops just outside of town - you just cross the road and pick up the tram. The tram took me to the stop outside the main railway station. With the railway station in front of you walk to your right. You will come to a large staircase - walk up the staircase and then you will come to a small but busy road. Cross the road then in front of you will be part of the railway station where the train run - then straight ahead a small staircase walk down and the apartments are on the right by the staircase. I am a single woman and I found Montpelier a wonderful place to visit. The Visitors Centre have very helpful staff and I went to a different place every day. Transport is cheap you can buy a ticket for the tram consisting of 10 tram tickets which is better than searching for change all the time. The buses that I used for visits are usually connected to the tram stops. The buses are very reasonably priced 1 - 1.50 Euro for a trip and some were over 30mins. I visited Sommieres ( had to get the school bus back!!) Aigues Mortes, Balaruc-les-bains (a lovely Spa town by the sea- I got a train to Sete then a local bus - well worth the visit - on Friday there is a market and plenty of places to eat and of course try the Spa - a wonderful experience. You can get all the information from the Tourist Board once you are there. Their buses run from the same stop. So you get off and on at the same drop off point.

The apartment is a fair size with nice bathroom and kitchen - all very clean and modern. My room had a window and also an air condition unit which I could use. The apartment is right next to the railway station if you keep the window closed you can not hear the trains. I like a window open so i did hear the trains - but the apartment and area are very quite. There are plenty of places to eat - a nice pizza up the road and a little supermarket and lovely bakers. I am sure you will enjoy your stay. The only minus is that there was not a iron board and iron and not any spare waste paper bags - but I used supermarket bags and took them out to the rubbish bank each morning. Emilie who met me was very sweet and answered any questions and was helpful.

Perfect for the City

Great location with the entire old city within easy walking distance, a few paces from the main station and tram connections. We took the cheapest room; it has the disadvantage of little natural light but it was very comfortable, well equipped with microwave and clean. There was construction work going on opposite but not too much noise penetrated. The proprietor is not on site but this has the advantage of complete flexibility.

A clean and cosy room only a short walk from the city center.

We had a little trouble finding the hotel, but the rooms are very nice and clean. The woman who owns the hostel, gave us a map and helped us to find the nearest supermaked and everything we needed, as there were no soap in the bathroom, no sharp knifes and nothing to cut ex vegetables on. It takes only 5-10min walking to get to the city center with small streets, restaurants, cafees and all kinds of shops. The only thing we miss is air condition, but we'd still be back by next opportunity and we'll recommend every one who's going to marseille, to try Aix Clés De Lune.
