Basic very basic
Indiana_Trickyon 25/03/2015 08:17I have stayed here over the past two years on several occasions. Always a week at a time.
Its very quiet and not too far from the airport. It is a typical budget hotel.
However since changing from Avalon to Almedia hotel its gone down hill.
There is a restaurant, however not alot of choice. Before there was at least a chance of getting a snitzel with fries. Now ... no chance.
Getting an iron is also a challenge as it appears there is only 2 irons and one board for the whole hotel.
Staff are friendly and rooms basic however always clean.
I recommend if you stay here , find out places to eat near by if you want a choice in cuisine.
1 night at the Avalom
Laudia1on 29/01/2014 19:17Its a very nice hotel. the room is very spacious. the personell is super friendly and helpful. we asked to exceed the checking out time cause we were going out and it was no problem at all. we overslept breakfast and they provided us some breadrolls even after breakfast time . that was awesome. the only not so good thing was the water pressure in the room. but the positive things outstand this very easy. we will be back :-)
Efficient and functional.
twistedwheelnuton 24/01/2014 13:31I stayed at the Domicil hotel for a few days on business. It's a decent standard hotel, with clean, tidy, decent sized rooms, but don't expect it to blow you away.
Staff were friendly and helpful, and spoke good English. The breakfast had a good selection, although the coffee wasn't great. At the back of the hotel is a fairly busy railway line so, if you are in one of the back rooms, expect a regular shaking as the train goes by (day and night). It's hard to get excited about this place - it is efficient and functional, but nothing more.
Adequate budget hotel
brtempon 26/10/2013 13:09I've stayed at this hotel twice. For 65 EUR night rate, you get what you pay for - and this is not meant to be negative.
It is a basic hotel set in a residential neighbourhood.
The rooms are very basic. I stayed in a single room which had a single bed, wardrobe, television. The bathroom was basic which included a shower but no bath. However, the water pressure of the shower is quite on the poor side. Additionally, the water temperature would suddenly fluctuate and increase to very hot. While okay for an adult, this could cause harm to a child.
The breakfast buffet while not large was very adequate with eggs, meats & cheese, yogurt, bread, fresh fruit and cereal.
The hotel also has free wifi which was spotty at times during my first stay, but had been improved on my stay a few months later.
The major only downside to this hotel is that most of the rooms do not have air conditioning. This was quite a problem when the weather was over 33 degrees C in the summer. The only rooms which do have air conditioning are the rooms which face the train tracks.
I have not stayed in the rooms which face the train tracks, but others in my group did and reported that the trains were quite noisy.
All in all, an adequate hotel.
Comfortable Hotel Close to Frankfrut Main Airport
NBLINYon 24/09/2013 04:16Everything was five star with this hotel except a language barrier and lack of open restaurant on weekends. Room was very comfortable and clean, breakfast was excellent for 5 euro fee, and parking in garage in basement with elevator access made for easy movement of luggage.
We were looking for a hotel close to the airport, found through Garmin GPS. It is in a residential area, strange for a hotel. There does not seem to be any draw other than close to the big city and airport.
The staff was helpful, as much as they could without a good command of English. We asked for nearest open restaurant, they could not give directions to a restaurant, nor could they give directions to the airport. We were there on a Saturday evening and we ventured out with our car and road for about 20 minutes before we found an open restaurant by chance..
