Clean room, poor food

I stayed 2 nights for business and had a very cozy mattress on my bed, but it looked a bit strange as a single bed..
The town is nice and has a lot of lovely old architechture.
+ clean, silent, great bathroom
- boring breakfast and poor lunch

Hotel out of town

Clean hotel. Organized check in by staff. Beds quite hard and we also had no air con working. Luckily we weren't hot. Could find anywhere to turn on but didn't really matter to us. Breakfast adequate and busy. Out of town and quite area with no audible noise.

Standard hotel, standard rooms, standard breakfast

We were a group of approximately 10 and had a central reservation. Check-in was quick, the gentleman at the reception didn't know if they have a gym...

The room was not very special, but clean. The same was the breakfast. Nothing special you will remember.

Simple and perfect for the purpose

The hotel parking in charged extra to the room, but this is not hidden. By arrival at the reception the staff was kind and helpful. Arranged restaurant reservation in external restaurant as well.
No experience with the in house restaurant only for breakfast. For this it is set well, everything for a normal breakfast is available, staff was kind here as well
The rooms are simple, size is good for a single-bed room.
Bath is ok.
Price were fair, and I have only good experience with the hotel.

A disappointment

We were relally looking forward to our stay. The hotel has a good starting point: Large rooms, good location, a nice garden for the rooms facing the back side and balconies for some of the rooms.

Unfortunately, there are plenty of shortcomings especially (but not only) in the service, as listed below:
1) For some strange reason, there is only one nighttable next to the bed instead of two, one on each side (we asked, and we were told that this is the case in all rooms).
2) Breakfast: We were promised there is soy milk (requested due to milk allergy). We requested for it, and got something which did not look like soy milk. Only after asking twice we were told that it was indeed not soy milk but rather lactose-free milk. I found it careless toward the food (milk) allergy to provide it although soy milk was ordered, and unprofessional. On the positive side, gluten-free bread was provided upon request.
3) Breakfast: Half an hour before the end of the breakfast time the vegetables plate was almost empty. However, only after we asked for it, it was filled again.
4) It smelled deep-fried in the breakfast room, and we found it unpleasant to have this smell already in the morningt during breakfast.
5) The room was not cleaned during the day! We descovered it when we arrived back to the room late in the evening.
6) There is a nice balcony but only one chair on it, although it is a double room.
7) In spite of all these problems, we were not allowed to check out a bit later although we requested for it (11:30 instead of 11:00).
8) The bed pillows were rather small and too soft for my taste.
9) It smelled strange in the bathroom.

In sum: The room size felt like 4 stars, many other things felt like maximally 2 stars.
