What a lucky find

Eating alone on a Sunday in Padua is risky business. Luckily my concierge recommended Trattoria Isoletta. The food was absolutely delicious! The two ladies were prompt and polite and the baked pork shin after the tortellini fungi filled the spot. A homemade hazelnut torta rounded it of to perfection. Authentic, honest home cooking at its finest and very reasonably priced. I think it's closed on Mondays which is a shame because I'd love to try some of their other dishes, particularly the baked rabbit.
Quick service, ok food

Went here for a quick lunch. Menu is set and you make your choices of first and second course with side vegatable. The spaghetti with olive oil had alot of red pepper. Someone else in our party had it with anchovies and it was strong. Main course was good and simple. Side dishes also were tasty. Service was very quick and they may have just finished the lunch crowd. Go here for good fresh food quickly.

After a day busy trip to Venice we decided to check for good places to eat that served local food. We originally planned to go to a further away place in middle of town, but it was closed when we got there. My girlfriend decided we should try the little place we passed on the way there as it looked local.
Boy were we so glad the other place was closed or we would have overlooked this little trattoria. It was around 8-9pm when we got there so it wasnt overly busy and looked like locals out for an evening meal and drinks.
We were initially worried it was too late to eat or that we couldn't be served, but the owner/chef/waitress very kindly took us to our table and made us feel right at home. Only occasional English was spoken but we managed perfectly well.
We were handed a tasty bread assortment and ordered some house wine which was very affordable and excellent. The menu was the perfect trattoria selection and very well laid out with antipasti and appetizers. We ordered primi and secondi dishes which were not fancy in presentation but the taste was perfection itself and left us extremely happy.
The price was decent and decided to leave a large tip for the overall experience. We'll definitely visit again. Molto delizioso!

We went there by accident because it was only one opened on Monday evening. And it was delicious, home wine, home food, not typical recipes, very friendly Isoletta and just very nice evening. To bad we didn't take pictures because everything as so delicious, that we simply started to eat straight away.
An interesting find

While wandering the streets of Padua we decided to stop for lunch at the first restaurant we came across. When we first saw Trattoria Isoletta we almost gave it a miss but we had a look inside and it was full. We were told a table would be available in 5 minutes. The pasta (spaghetti) was very good, the service exceptional ant the prices rediculously inexpensive. It is where the local workers eat so full of Italians. Not a place for a romantic meal but quite an experience none the less.
