If you are coming to the hotel by feet or by taxi, then it's O.K., but arriving with a car might be a problem, because there is no parking place next to the hotel. Literary even not for a short time stop for loading out the luggage. Otherwise, the hotel is located very close to the hill, where the Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur is located. The rooms are quite tiny, the furniture is decent, but it's O.K. for staying over a night. The receptionist was friendly. The rooms were clean.

This is a budget hotel, what you pay what you get. Breakfast is acceptable But The location is very convenient, you can walk to the subway within a minute, restaurant and market around the corner. Also you can walk to gu de nord within 10 minute. Sacred coeur is within walking distance......gift shop across the street............... However to remind you, when you are going to the subway, you need to be very careful, there is a lot of theif in this Anenir station because a lot of tourist in and out to the Sacred coeur. Within 3 day and three time in a row these theifs try to steal my family's wallet.

This hotel has nice pictures on booking but in fact the pictures do not reflect the reality. The photographer was a good one because he managed to transform this ugly place into a dreaming location.
Please understand that the location of the hotel is very good like 5 minutes by foot to Sacre Coure but this is the single positive fact.
The price was too high for the conditions given.
The place was not clean, terrible smell, but breakfast and only until 9 o'clock.
The door from the bathroom could not be closed and we were 4 persons...
I don't recommend only if you don't care were you sleep and you are ok with anything but for 100 euro I guess you want to receive clean bed and a proper coffee in the morning.

I stay there when I pass through town for soooo many reasons. It's not for any fancy amenities. It's for the view! And the location! And did I mention the price? No brainer there. Walk up the hill to good restaurants (explore the side streets off the tourist route).

Stay at Avenir only if there is no other place available.

The only saving graces for this hotel are the ladies who worked in the dining area, and the close proximity to the Montmartre (Sacre Couer) and the Anvers and Barbes train stations. The ladies in the dining area were attentive and cordial, and they should be the reception staff who greet guests upon arrival. When we arrived there, there was work being done in the reception area, complete with power tools roaring and dust and dirt flying). The elevator was tiny, with basically only enough room for one person and a suitcase. The front desk staff were unfriendly and even rude. ONe particular man spoke down to me as if I was stupid, when I requested help on how to use the in-room safe. As it turns out, the man's instructions for using the safe were incorrect, but I was still able to figure it out and use it.

The hotel itself is dirty, old, and worn out. It is a bit scary as you walk along Blvd De Rochechouart. Trash and graffiti riddled buildings. It is a bit shocking. Nonetheless, I never felt threatened or unsafe, but the area is not necessarily an attractive area for tourists.
