We reserved the two rooms in last minutes, which were the last rooms available. Unfortunately it hasn't gone well so far. This is what you see outside of the window.(see photos) Is this supposed to be the ocean view !?!? FYI : Room 301
The room also should be newly renovated according to their website but it's not - old, cigarette smell, dark , very sad room. There's a screen right next to the door in order to separate from their kitchen. Some tables were also lying around. Every time I walked in/out the room, I had to see this ugly sight, especially the screen remains open all the time.
I'm actually in futon right now but having a hard time falling asleep because of the smell.
I spoke to General manager after checked in addressing the issues (showed those pictures),but all I got was " Sorry". I could tell that he wasn't sincere, even annoyed. I had to wait a while to see him in first place for gods sake!

The lady who took care of us at dinner was very nice though.

A slightly faded beauty

We spent a weekend at the hotel and liked the spacious tatami rooms with partial seaview. The rooms come with a TV set, a toilet with a bath-tub and a spacious entry area.
The public bath (inside and outside) are also well appointed. As usual in a Japanese onsen you are provided with a yukata (cotton kimono), towels, toiletries. There is even a place where you can check your blood-pressure. The notenburo (outside bath) is set in nice stones with a small waterfall.
The dinner course that was served in the room was a bit disappointing. The quality of the food was okay but one got the impression that it had been prepared hours before, so everything was a bit drab.
Breakfast was served in a communal dining hall. The choice of food was pretty good.
The outside facade of the hotel has seen better days and looks a bit weather-worn.
On the ground floor are several shops where you can stock up on locally produced food and other souvernirs.

Check- in and check-out were speedy and professional. There is a complimentary hotel shuttle bus service between Sumoto bus terminal and the hotel. You will be picked up, when you call them. The last morning return runs at 10:30 a.m.
