What People are saying

Baan Grood Arcadia Resort & Spa

Baan Grood Arcadia Resort & Spa lives up to the praise that others talk about. It is a great place and we spent a wonderful three days there in early April of 2017. As this is the end of high season we mostly had the pool and grounds to ourselves. The food and beverages are is 5 star!! We can not say enough about the restaurant and the buffet breakfast that serves both Thai and Western dishes. The omelets and eggs made to order by the Sous Chef are wonderful. There is a wide variety of foods available to the breakfast buffet to even please picky eaters. You really need to try the Thai foods as well, the rice congee is as good as I have eaten in China.
The entire Staff are very friendly, helpful and they aim to please their guests. My overall impression is that they have been highly trained and they are all very good.
The pools are wonderful and my wife had most of it to herself in the mornings.
We had a Seaview Deluxe Villa and it was wonderful. The property is clean and inviting. The linens and towels are fresh and clean. I have traveled quite a bit throughout Thailand and Asia and highly recommend the Baan Grood Arcadia Resort & Spa. The Coffee Shop and Spa are right there on the property right next to the pool area so you do not have to walk too far at all. The only thing I do not know is exactly how many rooms they have. Guess we will have to go back and count them all!! :-) Rob Allen 04/04/2017. FYI: Here are the exact GPS coordinates to use: 11.34849, 99.565636. These will take you right to the parking lot!! :-) Enjoy!!

Paradise found

We booked one of the freestanding bungalows just one row back from the ones around the pool. The room was compact but comfortable, good sized bathroom, with both in and outdoor shower and lovely verandah to just sit and enjoy the serenity,

The hotel style rooms here are a long way back from the road and would really suit people who have their own transport, so if you don't the bungalows near reception are the better option, in my opinion. We got around on the hotel bicycles, though old and clunky, I thoroughly enjoyed getting about on the quiet and flat roads,

The staff here are pleasant and friendly but service seems to suffer a bit due to low patronage. It's just a vibe I had that everyone was a bit too complacent and didn't really have much to do. The patronage was low when we were there (low season, mid week) and this was very evident by the quality of the breakfast. Morning 1 (I think was a Monday so still some weekend guests) there was a small buffet set up and an egg chef station. The egg chef was the only person doing any work, even after making an omelete for a guest it just sat there while staff stood around looking at their phones, not even having the initiative to deliver it to the table. Morning 2 (clearly not many people were staying) the breakfast was just a shambles. No buffet set up. We sat down and staff brought out plates of unwanted food, fruit covered in cling wrap, a plate of cold toast (I don't eat bread), an omelette with meat cooked into it (I am vegetarian). I realise there is a language issue but surely one staff member is capable of asking guests 'what would you like?' as most of this food went to waste. By comparison the staff at our next stay in Prachuap treated us like royalty even though there were only about 6 guests in the whole place, they went out of their way to make our stay fantastic

Ban Krut is paradise and if I had known how much we would love it we would have stayed much longer than 2 nights. Would we stay again? No, but this is because we fell in love with the town so much we have actually bought a place of our own so Ban Krut will be our home away from home in the near future. Now we just have to keep this hidden gem a secret!

Just average now

We visited 2 years ago and in our estimation the standards have slipped a bit.i know the resort has been severely damaged due to the floods etc.we used to love just relaxing around the pool and having a swim, but when we was there the swimmming pool was not clean at all, they used to have cascading water fountains, not anymore.the breakfast we found was adequate.we stayed in the block at the bottom of the hotel on the 4th floor, there is a lift, but only the cleaning staff are allowed to use?strange!also we enjoyed riding on the bicycles but all of them are ready for the scrap heap now.

Not bad but not great

Stayed for a couple of nights at New Years - the place is clean and the pool is nice enough. They were full while we there so getting breakfast was chaos. Luckily there's a little coffee shop on site that you can order food from - was preferable to fighting over what was left of the buffet after the hordes had descended. Front desk service was a bit chilly. We asked for a second room key as my girlfriend and I dont spend 24 hours per day glued to eachother sides and were given a straight 'no.' Also they've put really nice outdoor rain-showers in the bathrooms but havent plumbed in hot water, which would have been nice. All in all the place is ok.

Very Pleasant Resort

We stayed only one night in Ban Krut but enjoyed our stay at the Baan Grood Arcadia Resort & Spa very much. The hotel will send a complimentary car to pick you up at the train station (& take you back.) The staff are pleasant & helpful, the pool area is beautiful, the coffee shop is inviting. Our garden-view bungalow with relaxing verandah in front & outdoor shower in back was tidy & quiet in the night. Wifi in the room was strong. The breakfast is a bit meagre but OK nevertheless.
